1. Probably the insurgents.
The sooner they get on with the phony elections, the sooner the American people will realize it's all a bunch of bullshit, because the fighting isn't going to stop.

7. I look at this fake election as nothing more than a sideshow
The US will not leave Iraq. The US will appoint a powerless
puppet for all the world to laugh at.
Bush will keep on working at cross purposes to the US
and the rest of the world. He serves only the 'elite' and powerful of
the world. The rest of us be damned.

5. If that's true, why are the Bushists pushing it so hard?
I know they'll probably wind up having it blow up in their face, especially if the Iraqis decide independently to postpone it.

6. Well...the Bushists will then have their "mission" accomplished
they will have their puppets in Iraq "democratically" elected..and can move on to control the country and the oil..and it is all done within the sanctions of an elected govt in Iraq.

8. Bush. The sooner the "election" takes place...
the sooner the occupation is legitimized.

9. well, see, if the occupation forces declare an "election" ...

... then whichever candidate the occupiers declare the winner suddenly has a "mandate from the Iraqi people". Just like when the SCOTUS appointed Bush in 2000.
