I think it will be another torture miliatry scandal.... or maybe if we're lucky Carl Rove will be caught with a ten year old boy...
Hell... I might just start that rumor anyways.

6. I thought the same thing last night
watching Clinton and Bush Sr talk. Even though I didn't like Sr he was still 100 times better than his son.
Made me realize how low my standards had dropped with the chimp in office. Shit I'd rather have Nixon than junior.

15. you're correct.
Nixon was a mixed bag, did good along with bad. Bush hasn't done any good that I know of beyond cleaning out Al Quaeda and forcing them to relocate in Pakistan. He even bungled that, letting the leadership go so he could pursue imperial glory in Iraq.

People a generation from now will scratch their heads in amazement that so many people voted for this kleptocracy, that they couldn't see what they were really up to and what would be the end result of their actions.

The lesson of fascism is that it can and does happen anywhere. The lesson of the GOP in the last half of the 20th century is that you need to charge, try, convict, and imprison the fascists early in the game or they keep coming back until they're able to seize power.

11. he already does look much worse
When the earth is naked of its trees, and the U.S. west of the Mississippi is a dead dying desert, no one will be looking back at Nixon, who had the EPA, Endangered SPecies Act, etc. passed while he was in office.

There will be much discussion of *'s role in refusing to fight climate change, in trying to get the forests cut, in trying to start the first "resource wars" instead of looking for science and technologically oriented solutions.

He will be considered another Nero or worse.

13. His record on industry pollution standards...
there are dozens of chemicals floating around here that were banned in Europe years ago. The rise in respiratory illness, chemical sensitivity, cancer and so on, which is already in full swing, can be credited to him. Death rates due to many illnesses will increase greatly because people won't have adequate health insurance to treat it. I don't have figures off-hand but the increase & the death toll of asthma sufferers is alarming. Thanks George, you cold bastard.

12. Nothing.. The "press" loves him
Nixon was HATED by the press.. There were no Rightwing Hate-radio stations propping him up 24/7.. The WashingtonTimes did not exist..There was no FoxNews..The WSJ was a teensy little financial paper that few people had even heard of.There was no CNN-MSRNC..

There was only NBC CBS and ABC and back then they were independent...and there were MANY newspapers...all over the place..also independent..

and then there was the draft..

*² will get little "interference"

16. Did you also see how it became illegal with accompanying
jail time to say that you disagreed with the war, etc.? He sent one of his former political opponents to jail for 10 years. Freedom of speech died when he went to war.
