OK, I admit it, I am stupid but..,
when I am asked for my URL, do I add my email address? I don't understand the URL thing. I want to send pictures, they ask for a URL, what do I do. I'm sorry that I am not too bright.

1. In what context...
is this through e-mail, DU, or an IM program maybe, or an image hosting site?

an URL is like a web address- like www.google.com or www.democraticunderground.com. When people ask for pictures, they are assuming you have the pictures uploaded on a website like Imageshack.us (good site). They want to see the pictures, so you send them the URL to the picture, something like www.google.com/about/employment. jpg

Is this an ebay thing?

4. Oh, OK, the "URL" they are talking about is for a local image file...
Edited on Tue Jan-04-05 09:25 PM by Solon
so in this case it would be like "C:\Documents and Settings\Username\desktop\image.jpg" or something along those lines, it should have a browse button on it so that you can find the file, then it uploads it, then it will give you another url, like "http ://ww w.imageshack.com/ image.jpg" I put some spaces in there so it would not be too modified. Then you can link to that by simply copying the URL they give and then you can see the picture on DU, Understand?

ON EDIT: BTW, don't say you are stupid about something that you don't understand, it is better to ask questions than to not ask them. That is a sign of intelligence if anything is.
