13. OK, I retored the Karma
I voted for colin powell, even though I think it'll be cheney, as soon as he dies, which shouldn't be too long now.

2. I voted for
Rice, I think she is the most likely to go of those names. Rumsfeld has Bush on a string, he would never go.

3. Smaller fry first....
John Bolton. He's the biggest horse's ass in the administration, and his influence is all out of proportion to his job title.

9. Thought-provoking answer
With Colin and the U.N. "in play" now, will they believe that they need Bolton more than ever? Or will he disappear?

I suspect there is some pretty interesting internal politics now.

7. Powell
Edited on Sun Sep-07-03 07:20 AM by REP
Remember the trial balloon floated about him a while back? He's also the least in step with the administration (remember the Daily Show Powell action figure, which was tiny, "shown in influence size"?), and was the face making the case with the vial of "anthrax." He's the one to go, not Condoleezza Rice ("just add water for a delicious side dish!") and not just because she's polishing the Shrub's knob.

edited for extra innuendo

8. Troulbe with this one.
It has to be someone that the base is not for. So who do the neo-cons and Chiatian right dislike? I can not figure that out. For one thing, that I do not understand, is both like to kill people to make problems go way and I never looked at things that way.Revenge is mine say the Lord and I do not feel we have that right plus it does bad things to your make up.Blow back also happens and we see that all the time.So who is the one to go? I just will say others.

12. I'd say Powell....
not because he'll be the first to go, but because he's the one they'd like to get rid of.

He's odd man out, and embarassing the rest of the crew. He's been pretty much right all along, but DoD and the Security Council are pretty big gorillas to take on. I'm surprised he's lasted so long, but he is one very smart and tough sumbitch. You don't get to be chairman of the Joint Chiefs by writing screeds for a thinktank, and he has lots of friends in Washington.

Any decision may be up to Congressional pressure from key Republicans looking out for their own asses.

14. Wolfowitz
would be the easiest sacrifice for Bush to make. 98% (I'm guessing) of Americans don't know who he is. It would be in and out of the news in 48 hours.

17. I agree. It could be Rumsfeld.
Though it would be a serious, serious blow to the admin. for him to 'resign,' Rummy is the one who is responsible for the failed 'fast and light' invasion/reconstruction. If the current trend of losses continues, the buck may well have to stop with him.
