1. Cute. I'm already a vegetarian, but I didn't know that stuff. |
|
But believe me, it is not going to faze meat-eaters.

2. "Pigs are smarter than 3-year-old children" |
|
That sentence is deeply ideologically troubling. Comparing animals to humans is never a good idea.
Interesting ad, though.

6. That's not the reason - |
|
- it's only one step away from comparing humans to animals. Anthropomorphism is really philosophically dangerous.
Incidentally, sentient means "having the power of perception by the senses". Everything the sees, touches, smells and tastes is sentient. It doesn't mean "intelligent".

8. Can you say "Soylent Green"? |

I agree, it's a slippery slope to compare animals to Humans. Rather than elevating the status of the animal, I can see how it might be tempting to de-value the status of the Human, for much the same greedy reasons.

I KNOW my eating causes death. I accept that. The Soybeans in my Gardenburger, they were once alive, too.
Oh, I'll also venture a guess that my Edamame soybeans are smarter than your average FReeper, too. Never mind the pig...:-)

15. If you like bloody and hot you should try |

locating Uma Thurman's "sanitary napkin" on a particularly heavy menstrual period day. Eat that. If you knew about the disgusting shit (literally) in the animal carcass products you consume, you'd be equally averse.
