G.W. Bush *IS* toast! Start chilling the French champagne!
Edited on Sun Sep-07-03 07:52 AM by Flying_Pig
G.W. Bush *IS* toast! Start chilling the French champagne, because the time is coming, ...fast.

Since December of 2000, many here on DU, and other mostly Internet-based sources, have predicted the fall of Smirky McMonkeyboy, for one transgression/crime, or another. Our hearts have filled with hope, and promise, only to be quickly replaced with a sense of defeat and anger. Problem was/is, the crimes of this regime have failed to generate much actual steam, despite the hyper-active "billows work" on the political fires that many of us have done. Up to now, we have failed to start a conflagration, and Georgie and Dick have thus far managed to slither into the shadows every time, relatively unscathed, helped by a compliant and embedded media.

Be it:

> Election 2000
> The California Energy Crisis
> Enron
> 9/11 (LIHOP or MIHOP)
> Secret Energy Meetings
> Spiriting out of the country, the bin Laden family after 9/11
> The continuing debacles at the U.N.
> Lying about Iraq, before, during, and the "so-called after", the war
> The Economy
> Air quality in New York

and on, and on, ....and on..., they have, much to our consternation, thus far, escaped justice each and every time, in each and every case. So what's changed now? Well, it certainly isn't the media, which is still filled with whores, traitors, and collaborators (who need to be severely punished, ...more on that another time), though some are starting to see the writing on the wall, and are positioning themselves for a bit of face-saving, if not survival. It isn't the Democratic campaigns in progress either, though each are helping to add to the rising din. No, what it is, and what has been missing, is legitimacy, perceived or otherwise, of those making the accusations against the Bush regime.

The Regime, is doing all it can, aided and abetted by the Republican-controlled media, to bury stories, discredit opponents and whistle-blowers (including, murdering them?), hurriedly issuing phony terror alerts, ramping up more war rhetoric (Iran and Syria anyone?), up to, and including, Junior's hastily called nationwide address scheduled for tonight. They are desperate my friends. for the first time, they are panic stricken, ...and what a delight it is to see! The cocky smirks are being slapped from their faces, replaced with "deer in the headlights" looks of sheer terror. They are stammering, stuttering, and falling "off-message". Don't be fooled by any manufactured "toughness", or patriotic propaganda, these people are terrified, ...and I love it!

While seeing their fear, bring worries on it's own (will they do another MIHOP to divert attention?), it's gone all too far now, ...too far. So what's changed?

Around the world, and in our own country, from government ministers (Meacher in Britain), to ambassadors (Wilson, and others in the U.S.), to presidents and foreign ministers of other nations spanning the globe, to doctors, to academics, to intelligence agents, to military personnel, to scientists, to professors, to the 9/11 families, and on, and on, people of great authority and creditability are making the accusations now.

It's not just us political geeks and observers, it's not the cab-driver making conversation, it's not partisan political hacks, it's not just the members of MoveOn and DU, ........the accusations have now been conferred irrefutable, and undeniable legitimacy, by virtue of those who have chosen to embrace them. It nation-wide, it's world-wide, and it is out of their control, ...and they know it.

They know it, and they are scared shitless. The are "riding shotgun down an avalanche*". They are grabbing their ankles, while the mountain of lies, scandals, and crimes they built up, ...gives way. It's too late now, and too much momentum has been gained. They can no longer stop it. Oh, ...they can, and probably will,.. try. They can start diversionary tactics and actions, ... but it's too late. We, and the world, aren't buying it any more, and some of us, ...never did. And whatever they might try to do, will be viewed with the highest level of critical suspicion, and only their most hard-core believers will buy anything they might be selling, ...from this point forward.

So, we have a few miles to go, before justice is done, but we are going to be able to witness the death-knell of this fascist, neocon driven regime, and be a part of history by helping it happen. They, like any cornered wild-animals though, are apt to be most dangerous right now, so we need to keep our guard up, and keep hammering, and hammering away. We are close to seeing what many of us thought we would *never* see, .... justice for those who have brought our nation to its knees. So close, I am chilling my champagne, and this time, for once,.... I don't think I will regret having started the party a little bit early. The "pigs" are flying! Salute'!

 (* Thanks to Shawn Colvin)

1. One small problem ---- TOUCHSCREENS
IMHO it takes a 14% or greater spread for a Democrat to beat the rigged Touchscreens.

6. This is certainly an area of concern...
but, we are on top of it already, instead of after the fact, like in Florida. The Dem candidates need to embrace voting reform, and call for voting machine protections and back-ups, and we need to keep up our clamor (thanks Bev Harris!!) With regards to this issue, we are already shining light into the rathole. Let's shine more, until it burns them to a crisp!

4. We know those facts to be true....
But the average idiot walking the street thinks that SH killed 3,000 people in NY. Maybe tonight Chimpboy will try and involve Iran in the same disaster and here we go again.

They also believe that the millions of unemployed and Bush's crap economy only come down to one thing, 9/11. I guess they didn't catch the layoffs that started 4-5 months before.

We know these facts but with rigged voting machines and Media Whores....

Edited on Sun Sep-07-03 07:50 AM by Flying_Pig
mass, movement. Despite the media, despite the idiots who believe SH was in on 9/11, despite it all, movement has started, and an avalanche is not far behind.

The freepers and supporters of this regime cannot, and will not, be able to ignore what is happening. The "true patriots" among them, will join in with the rest of the world. As for the rest, there will be a price to pay, ..when the dust settles.

As far as the media goes, I think we will see damage control efforts on a par never seen before. They will say (both the media, and the regime) they are/were doing it for "the good of the country", or some such shit. We CANNOT let them get away with it this time. If the media continues to try and cover their fascist asses, then it will be time for us to mount a full scale political assault on the media. I am talking protests on a scale that actually shuts them down, and scares the shit out of them. And unless they want to be charged with treason and sedition, they will get in line, and start doing their jobs, being advocates for truth and justice, and the people, instead of accomplices to lies and tyranny!

Bush is going to have a 300m warchest.
The Republicans are very much in this race, which is why we need a candidate who can turnout people at the grassroots and raise money.

20. I also know several people, like the Doc..
who have done a "180" on Bush. See, even if OUR media chooses to ignore the facts, the world is NOT ignoring them, nor is THEIR media. We will be thought of as a rogue nation when the truth comes out, one far more evil than Iraq ever was/is, and this, eventually, will become the power needed to remove these usurpers. Perhaps it will be our collective shame, that will finally lead this nation to do the right thing.

21. I've seen a little of that, myself. And other things:
1) I've noticed the really staunch bush supporters around me aren't so vocal and smug anymore. You hardly hear peep out of 'em.
2) I don't get ANY more of those crappy mass-produced emails from wing-nuts either dumping on Clinton or gushing about bush.
3) I've also noticed that those who are anti-bush are MUCH more vocal about it, no longer afraid or intimidated.
4) Plus, I've noticed among folks I'd have characterized previously as fence-sitters or vaguely anti-bush - no more of that, either. They're rabid. They're foaming-at-the-mouth angry. Not afraid anymore to stand up and say so.

One woman friend who was a #4 just above, turned to me a few days ago and left me delightedly stunned, by saying: "I VOW to do everything I can, EVERYTHING IN MY POWER, to get him OUT OF OFFICE. I LOATHE him. Absolutely LOATHE him." Mind you, these were remarks from her coming out of a clear, blue sky, not in ANY WAY provoked by or prompted by me. She just came out with it as a total nonsequitur.

I sense the tide changing. Maybe not enough, maybe not fast enough, but it's changing.

And why would he be scrambling to preempt his own 9/11 cannonization show on Showtime tonight with one of those pathetic primetime speeches to address people's concerns if his henchmen hadn't advised him he better say something. Quite obviously they've noticed, too. Now they're trying to put lipstick on a pig. But the pig will STILL be a pig.

17. There will be no reason to celebrate ...
Edited on Sun Sep-07-03 10:27 AM by TahitiNut
... unless and until this criminal cabal, including the crony capitalist crooks, is prosecuted for their crimes. Where's Kenny Boy Lay? Where's Jeff Skilling? Where's Bernie Ebbers? Until the protofascist infestation of our body politic is treated and cured, democracy is still terminally ill. These people have been allowed 'inside' the commonwealth garrison for far too long, unlocking the doors, undermining the parapets, and disarming the alarms. The raping and pillaging of our heritage must not be allowed to continue. A single election is almost nothing compared to the damage that continues unabated. It's akin to being happy to retrieve the few doubloons dropped on the ground by the escaping overburdened pillagers of our liberties, lands, and labors. Abominable.

19. One step at a time T.N., ...
First, we must re-capture our government, ...and, our juduciary. The new Dem president, after firing Ashcroft, and then arresting him for treason, should then appoint a new AG, who's primary task it would be, to fully prosecute all of these thieves and collaborators, including those in the media.

A Federal Grand Jury should be appointed to prosecute all those who have committed crimes against our nation, and its people, during the Bush regime. One thing we can't settle for though, is a Dem leader who would let these prosecutions go, and/or, issue a bunch of pardons under the guise of "national healing". We need someone to bring justice. Through justice, we will have healing, by vetting the truth. It's the only way. We cannot allow these traitors escape again.

The only thing that will save him, they say, is another terrorist attack. But it has to be in London.

24. Big Bucket-O-Pardons
Borrowing the Ford/Nixon scenario. The last month's of this paly go like this. Cheney resigns, Bush nominates Powell for VP, who is quickly approved. Bush later resigns, Powell pardons EVERYONE.

With everyone pardoned, the investigations die out. A few get richer writing books.
