10 THE GAMES DO COUNT, by Brian Kilmeade. (ReganBooks/HarperCollins, $24.95.) Celebrities and politicians discuss how sports changed their lives. (+)

A dagger (+) indicates that some bookstores report receiving bulk orders.

1. LOL! From the title, I thought it was E.D. Hill (nee Edie Tarbox)

I taught her when she was in high school, and I was wondering if she was going to include a chapter called,"I'm dating the Science Teacher while recovering from my second nose job."

On edit: I don't teach Science!

2. Probably a smart idea to clear that up
I find her sooo obnoxious. I get most of my news from online sources (New York Times, MSNBC, The Onion), but every so often, I try to watch TV news, and a couple of years back when Fox was just available in our area, I started watching it. She drove me nuts.

Which, in a way, is a little sexist the way they set that up. Both the guys are clearly conservative too, but when it comes to expressing the "out there" opinion, it would usually be her, it seemed to me. That let the men generally agree with her, while coming off as more reasonable.

Could be i'm wrong in that impression though.

Bryant

3. A book "written" by someone...
...who probably hasn't even read a book outside of school assignments?

Sounds like a deep read.

4. He Started as Intern or Something for LETTERMAN
as incredible as that sounds. From such a spectrum of JERKS to choose from in Faux Propaganda Network, this dude ranks high. And the E.D. person-------sits there and says (about just ANY topic), "BOMB them, just BOMB them to smithereens!" And the other one, how humiliating that after his star turn on his own show he has to do the weather for the follow-ups.

6. Hmmmnnn...
...but then, how much does an intern contribute to the success of a TV show?

Maybe he really is less meatheaded than the average personality at FOX (I stopped watching it sometime ago). I think I'll still pass on this...um...book?

7. I Didn't Mean that He Contributed Anything to LETTERMAN's Excellence
Edited on Wed Jan-05-05 10:30 AM by UTUSN
On the contrary, when I first heard he had worked for LETTERMAN, who encouraged him, it made me question LETTERMAN. And I don't mean to imply that he is ANY less meatheaded in ANY way. He's a total JERK.

11. He could have just been someone around the show
I am guessing that he tells that story himself but then Dave might have just been giving him a pat on the back and telling him to go for it.

9. Is that the same asshole from Hitler youth camp that told Janene
Garafalo that she was a Saddam lover? I saw Fox and friends one time after having some dental surgery and i was on pain killers, i thought it was a paraody of a morning show. Imagine my horror when i found out it wasn't.

10. Watching that show IS like having dental surgery
Edited on Wed Jan-05-05 10:44 AM by underpants
My favorite part is when they actually read the talking points off the laptops in front of them.

It has very low ratings. I think the only ones who watch it are people who don't tape the Daily Show the night before.
