Bush - Gonzales defense: Jesus tortured the moneychangers
Ok so he knocked over their tables while they were in the act of moneychanging but isn't that the same thing?

1. Yeah!
And if it's ok with Jesus, it's ok with the Bush administration.

8. I often wonder if
Bush was around if Jesus's time, he would have labeled Jesus a terrorist.

2. Let me know...
... when Cheney charges down Wall Street with a whip and then we can make an analogy. Nope, can't make that one -- I think Osama already did. That is certainly not to make light of 911, BTW, just pointing out that the story of Jesus wrecking the tables of the moneychangers at temple (for commiting the sin of usury) was probably not lost on Mr. bin Laden, whose targets always have a greater symbolic meaning.

3. Excellent point.
Bush has the big superpower mechanism behind him, but Osama is winning the publicity war.

4. Its a shame more people don't point out
that the attackers hit the centers of American economic and military power. The choice of targets was obvious. American military and economic dominance of the world is exactly why they hate us, not because of our freedoms. If they hate us for our freedoms they must love Bush, who is gradually taking them away.

6. Well, I can hardly wait until the next justification...
1. They hate us for our freedom
2. They hate us our election
3. They hate us for their election

after the election?

they hate us for our mountains
they hate us for the Great Lakes
they hate us for our freeways
they hate us for McDonads', Burger King, Wendy's, Applebees and Coke (oops this is probably right!)

7. Who really benefitted from 9-11?
Come on. Without 9-11, Bush's Presidency would have been a disaster. The moderate Republicans were already screaming about Bush's sharp turn to the right, Jeffords jumped, he was under 50 per cent job approval rating, the secret energy meetings that Cheney held were being suspiciously viewed, the Wall Street scandals and Enron were sure to discredit the gOP plans for privatizing Social Security, yet Bush and Cheney appeared unconcerned as if they had a "plan" up their sleeve...

Without 9-11, the neo-con's wet dream of justifying an endless War for Profit with a new "Pearl Harbor" style event would never have been realized...

Without 9-11, the assault on your civil rights could never have been undertaken so blatantly. The subsequent rape of your beneficial Government programs would never have been even contemplated. The acceptance of a permanent "security state" could not have been assured.

The Bush Crime Syndicate has always been very close to the bin Laden Group in saudi Arabia. The bin Laden Group is to the Saudi Governmnent what Halliburton is to the US Government. Osama bin laden got his start in Afghanistan and, with the concerted co-operation of the CIA, helped to finance and build Mujahadeen bases and "terrorist training camps". That's where the term "Al Qaeda" was born - after one of the Camps. Al Qaeda means "The Base".

In the Muslim World, an ignorant and oppressed majority of the citizenry are led to believe that bin Laden is a great man. With the help of Al Jazeera, a propaganda outfit for the Saudi Royal Family as surely as Fox News is a GOP propaganda machine. At the same time, the American people are lied to in the same fashion.

Endless cycles of violence and revenge benefitting a few Corporate entities, international oligarchs and oppresive totalitarian Governments...

Please. For the Love of your country, put 2 and 2 together...

Reichstag Fire + Hitler = 9/11 + Bush

9. When did they say this?
You are presenting this as satire, perhaps? Or are you projecting a ridiculous statement that you think a christian might make, but which I assure you no christian would ever think condones torture? Bush and Gonzalez are assholes enough without dragging their religion into it, unless they actually said this, of course.

11. Bush and Gonzales are assholes enough --
-- in part because they align with a manipulated perception that this president is a "Christian," when in fact he is among the least "Christian" people I know.

Complicit in this perception are all the slobbering right-wing hellfire nutcase Christians who have no concept whasoever of the Bill of Rights in a constitutional republic, and the mainstream Christians who allow these assholes to speak for a relgious tradition over 2,000 years old while the Constitution burns.

12. Just so you are up front, he never said it, and it was an intentional slur
Not just against Bush and Gonzalez, but also against Christians in general. Good for you.
