Poll says 38% of Americans keep guns in their homes
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Big News Network.com Thursday 6th January, 2005

Thirty-eight percent of people in the United States say they keep a gun in their homes, a Gallup Poll Tuesday Briefing analysis reported.

In addition to the people who say they have a gun in the house, another 2 percent said there was one elsewhere on their property, such as in a car, garage or barn.

Those who have guns are likely to have more than one, Gallup said. A total of 62 percent of respondents said they have more than one gun in their house, including 29 percent who said they have five or more guns. Those figures boost the average to 1.7 guns in every U.S. home.

1. What guns?
I lost all mine in a tragic boating accident.

2. Looks like we'll need them with the fascist in power!
I may go out and buy myself a shotgun or two.

3. Its a Good Thing...
Those of us who chose to become gun owners, vice being born into it, seem to be more careful, more knowledgeable, and better shots (we practice regularly). Wish more people did the same.

I was "converted" after being assaulted. I am not sure I could support a candidate that was into civilian disarmament, regardless of their other positions. I'd say something about cold dead fingers, but then I would sound like some sort of NRA wingnut.
