North Korea tells citizens to prepare for war against USA
North Korea has ordered its citizens to be ready for a protracted war against the United States, issuing guidelines on evacuating to underground bunkers with weapons, food and portraits of leader Kim Jong Il...

Analysts said the guidelines reflected Pyongyang's fear over a possible U.S. military strike amid stalled talks on its nuclear weapons programs. They said the guidelines were also meant to whip up a sense of crisis among its 22 million people, reportedly growing discontent amid economic hardship.

"The United States has cooked up suspicion over our nuclear programs and is escalating an offensive of international pressure to strangle and destroy our republic," the booklet said. "If this tactic doesn't work, it plots to use this (nuclear) problem as an excuse for armed invasion."

1. I remember when AirAmerica ran the first nuclear war threat
story and then media killed it that same day...that was so weird. At least Randi said she had a friend at a major station that said people were threatened with being fired if they reported this.

How awful it must be to live in a country run by a madman. Can't imagine what that's like.

5. North Korea has a good reason to be scared
Bush probably WILL attack them if he can.

I just hope the North Korean's missiles can only reach the red states.

18. At the current time, published estimates I've read say...
...North Korea's missiles could only reach the West Coast. The resulting devastation from such a strike would kill millions - and wouldn't discriminate by voter preference. In that light, your truly despicable "hope," as contemptible as it is, speaks for itself and needs no further commentary.

3. That Yahoo story has a link to globalresearch.ca
That's remarkable if you ask me.

That site is very radical and very critical of U.S. Foreign Policy. It also contains the research of Michel Chossudovsky, who has maintained from early on that the US Government was complicit or even behind the events of September 11, 2001.

13. I suppose attacking North Korea would lead to peace then?
Edited on Wed Jan-05-05 11:53 PM by Solly Mack
Just how many countries does the boy blunder attack before there is peace?

If I was the leader of a country while AWOL Boy was in office, I'd build up my country's defense with anything and everything I could get a hold of... you never know when the resident malaprop will decide he needs your resources.

Bush invades countries on a whim...some people have bad hair days, Chucklenuts has "lets go to war" days

I tell ya, that ill-bred, ugly as homemade sin fucker in the Whitehouse is nothing but a fool.

15. I want to live. I want peace. Our leaders do not want peace:
Our leaders insult, mock, taunt, goad, and dare their/our/fuckit enemies into responding.

North Korea had a damn good point when they said that the US doesn't have a monopoly on the concept of pre-emptive defense.

Georgie Porgie opened a GIGANTIC can of worms by conniving his way into Iraq (and 9/11. Sorry, but the CIA, FBI, Cheney, himself... they all knew. The "LIHOP" concept had been confirmed and even "MIHOP" is still not beyond a reasonable doubt.)

How dare anybody else react the way the US act.

Hell, the US can't govern its own damn self. That the fuck does it think when it goes around trying to play "World's nationbuilding policeman" after telling the public he was against the idea of 'nationbuilding'?

14. I think nuclear armageddon is the way to go.
Looking at everything in the world right now.

And no rich exploitative reich-wing bastard would survive either.

Or if they did, they'd soon be in a state where they'd envy the rest of us.

That is what I'd wish upon them, if they choose to continue going down this unevolved animalistic aggressive path.

20. "I think nuclear armageddon is the way to go"...
...wow...no /sarcasm tag, so I assume you post in all seriousness. Hundreds of millions would perish in such an "armageddon" (Sic) - and very few of them would be "reich-wing bastard" types.
This post strikes me as one of those deliberately intended to give conservatives "look what those hateful liberals are saying!" talking points. I call not only BULLSHIT, but something else I'm not allowed to state according to the board's rules.

16. That was 9 months ago
The 33-page "Detailed Wartime Guidelines," published in South Korea 's Kyunghyang newspaper on Wednesday and verified by Seoul, was issued April 7, 2004, at a time when the communist regime was claiming it was Washington's next target following the Iraq war.
