2. Well some assume the world is giong to end pretty soon
So that might factor into their decisons. Others probably just believe the trickle down nonsense, that if the government follows these policies teh economy will grow and swallow the deficit. Other's believe that we are wasting a lot of money on government programs that help the undeserving--a large deficit will force them to cut back.

None of these theories makes a lot of sense.

6. I am so sick of "trickle down" talk
it is not working. Just point to them the widening gap in income between the top haves and the middle/bottom and the proof is in the pudding. Of course, the RWers I talk to about this act like I am making this up or ignore it.

The only thing trickling down is ...never mind. Not going to say it.

3. I have a freeper in my office that I have asked that questions to
He doesn't care. He says "as long as my taxes are low, I don't care." I think Paul Krugman tells it straight when he talks of "starving the beast." This is to run up the debt so that we have no choice but to dismantle all Great Society and New Deal government programs. I can't believe these so-called moral mandate voters.

5. That's old line conservative thinking....
...that the neo-cons have no interest in. They'll bandy the words around because it still sounds good to the masses, but the concepts have eluded them.

Conservatives used to believe in fiscal responsibility and a balanced budget, too, once upon a time.
