So are we divided 3 ways now rather than just 2? |
|
The divide between liberals and centrists and the finger pointing that came with it was bad enough. Now it seems what happened today divides us all into camps of:
Should not have done this. Should have done this exactly the way it was done. Should have done it more and what we did was a cop out.
Ugh. I fear things are only going to get better befor they get worse for us.

I WAS disappointed that more senators didn't vote for the objection, but all in all, I am VERY impressed, and can only hope that dems on the Hill continue to stand up against the ShrubCo's agenda over the next few years.

3. not a significant divide |
|
the people who led the vote for the challenge, Conyers et al, will not let it be a divide. At some point they will say let's move on, which will piss a few people off, but almost everyone will move on.

4. There's a fourth divide |
|
I'm part of the fourth group, which says
Let's move on to revamp the party and figure out how we win in the future.
Change is usually not fun. Let's move into the future and get about it, then, so we can build a new party and get ready for '06. Crap, do we want to lose again then? It is coming sooner than we know!
But of course, it is easier to bitch about the past than to be a part of the solutions of the future.

The move divides the better....The more viewpoints the more ideas are thrown about. Why do we have to have only 1 or 2 ways of looking at things??

6. We don't have to have only 1 or 2 ways of looking at things... |
|
But when the people who subscribe to 1 way spew such invective and hatred at our own simply because they don't feel that particular issues are as important as other ones, then that becomes a problem. That's the problem I see with what is going on now.

Nothing new there. It's just going to be over a different set of circumstances this time.

8. You have to remember the nature of an Internet message board. |

1. People here are more prone to sitting around than the general population, and thus more people are such that the only way they see of having impact is voting or withholding their vote. 2. People here are more vocal than most, so they are more likely to complain. 3. People here are missing much of the normal social cues and accountability present in normal face-to-face relationships, so they are more given to hyperbole. 4. The Internet attracts people who often have more problems functioning socially than others, and this is often tied in with being moody and not knowing how to influence people.
Relax. The temperature at DU is distorted compared to real life.
