1. He sold us out
Already.

I'm done with the Democrats. They've lost me for good.

4. I agree with you
I was saddened by his remarks. Just another centrists. Seems we got to see quite a few of them today. I am not sure if they are centrists or sell-outs!

6. Er, no, Obama is not a centrist.

He is quite progressive. But yeah, let’s send him in with guns blazing so we can make sure one of the few progressives in Congress gets voted out after one term. Good plan.

8. Then he should have voted "YEA"
Seems his speech was considered "guns blazing" to a few anyway, so why not go the distance and place an affirmative vote!?

2. I loved his remarks

He was a surprise speaker and I thought he spoke from the heart.

Some felt it didn't go far enough, in my opinion, HE STOOD UP for justice and as a brand new Senator, that was great!

7. He stated the facts...
...that Bush won, and that the elex process needs review and examination and reform, to paraphrase his speech.

Because those facts are irksome to some people here, they have trashed him in many threads for stating them. And they dissed him for standing up as a freshman senator to make the speech. You can see more of the trash-talk in the "General Discussion: Politics" topic.

End of story.
