Poll question: Should folks who join a third party leave DU?
Some people think that the (at this point) nearly half of people who are considering changing parties should leave DU. Should those people leave DU?

I say yes, and WHY, because all they'll do is bad mouth the dems like
they are doing now. The circular firing squads will continue.

3. Since I'm teetering right at the brink right now
of switching to the Green party, my obvious answer is no. Anyway, this site has always allowed people who were not registered Democrats. I don't see any reason that should change.

Anyway, I like it here and am not leaving unless I get kicked off.:)

4. If so, then they would have to change the first rule:
1. This is a message board for Democrats and other progressives.

I've always thought that meant it was a board for advocates of democracy not just Democrats... maybe I've got that wrong...

5. No. We're all working towards the same goal, and third parties are
essential for promoting discussion.

6. I voted "No, all should be welcome"
But I am getting pretty tired of reading thread after thread of people who seem to be able to think only in absolutist terms.

It's as depressing to read our side demonizing people who have worked their butts off trying to maintain democratic standards and policies as to read Freepers doing the same thing.

8. cool thing about DU is the the owners decide who stays or leaves
not the people who post polls about it or those that respond to them.

10. Should all Democrats join a 3rd party?
I'm thinking of registering with the Greens.

11. Locking.
This topic is very likely to prove unproductive, at best. Thank you for understanding.
