Why do Freepers rate stories about dead soldiers so low?
I don't go to Yahoo to do the news, but I read a lot about it here. I can't see why stories about our military who die in Iraq get rated lower than 5. Man, these are pretty brave kid to get out every day where there is no front line. For them it seems that death or injury is just a second away potentially.

If the Freepers are so strong in their support for our military, why can't they rate these stories highers in tribute to the soldiers and their families? Its like they are just toys that the Freepers toss away. I would think that they would want people to know about the sacrifices that are being made on everyone's behalf.

Well, the shame is on them, because I read a lot of compassionate things about the soldiers here, even though most don't support the war at all.

2. Don't know
but the Arkansas Dem/Gazette had a headline that read "3 Arkansans Dead in Iraq"-all part of the Guard. This paper is a rw rag, but it didn't dare not mention these deaths. My sympathy to the families.

3. I don't think it is all the freepers...
I think it is people in general, not understanding what the ratings do. I think when it is bad news the just rank it low because they don't like the news they are hearing. Not trying to censor it. I can't think of one single time on DU when someone has requested that we rate a story LOWER, only requests to bump it so more people see it. I don't think most people get the concept of what the ratings button is for.

6. Thats too bad...
because these kids deserve a lot more than they are getting.

Here's another one...when will we start to see some of these kids that have been injured. Are they being kept out of the public eye?

5. They think if the stories get too popular then people will go against
the Chimp. They don't want the pussy hippy liberal media to prevent the bloodshed from continuing. Bury the stories so the war can on without complaints. Sick but true.

8. Does anyone else wonder if Rove hires some flying monkeys sitting
at keyboards to rate these dead soldier stories down? Probably doesn't cost much and easy to do...
