Poll question: Who thought the election would be overturned today?
Based on the tone of the board today, I am just wondering how many people thought the election would be declared null and void and Bush would be shown the door?

If you said yes, why did you think that would happen?
If no, are you still angry enough to leave the party?

1. No---and why should I leave the party?
After decades of decline, the party is just starting to show some fight. These are the good times.

8. "these are the good times" - that's laughable
but somehow I don't find myself laughing. The DNC is now talking about keeping McAuliffe. Yeah, that's some real fight they're showing......

Must be exercising poor judgement.

I don't understand it. Some people just wallow in misery.

18. I read that too and dismissed it as typical RW BS
Calculated to cause panic and distress and succeeding wonderfully with those who enjoy suffering.

20. Which point?
The point about the McAwful panic or the point that I didn't expect the election to be overturned or the point that I don't see any reason to leave the party or the point that these are good times? Sorry I'm not very focused. I blame the margaritas.

3. I'm not angry. I'm disappointed in the election results, obviously,
and I'm glad that Boxer and Tubbs Jones raised objections to begin the debates on voter reform. I would like to see some action as a result of this, such as legislation brought forward and passed.

7. Declared Null?
Not in my wildest dreams. Lieberman and Bayh would have seen to it that it was certified if it had started to swing the other way.

9. They did *just enough*
I HATED the "I know Bush won" over and over. If no Senator had objected, I would have not voted Dem in '08, results be damned. But now we'll see...

10. If the Ohio electors couldn't be resolved.......
The election for President would be thrown into the House of Representatives and the election for VP would be thrown into the Senate. Results: Bush-Cheney.

13. well...
I didn't think it would be overturned, the repukes have the majority, but I was just expecting more of the Democrats to have a spine this time and take a stand.

14. Either many haven't voted or they lied
Judging by some of the near hysterics here today there should be lots of "yes" votes.

Of course if I had had such unrealistic expectations I might be too embarrassed to admit it too.

15. Everything happened today as I expected...
meaning, the status quo from the past 4 years. I can't leave the Democratic Party as I'm an independent. Party affiliation is becoming more meaningless, as displayed today as there is no core of legislative opposition to Shrubco.
