Employment firm pleads guilty to fraud charges (they falsified immigration forms -- e) Copyright 2005 Houston Chronicle
HARLINGEN - A San Antonio employment company has pleaded guilty to giving false information to FBI agents investigating a possible al-Qaida plot to poison military rations made in South Texas.
Remedy Intelligent Staffing, part of the San Antonio-based Tollin Group Inc., entered a guilty plea late Tuesday to a federal charge that it conspired to submit hundreds of falsified immigration forms to conceal the employment of undocumented workers at a McAllen food plant, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office in Houston.
The Wornick Co. hired Remedy to find temporary workers after receiving a $47.2 million government contract to produce 1.1 million Meals Ready-to-Eat for the invasion of Iraq.
Remedy has agreed to pay a criminal fine of up to $500,000 and a civil penalty of $414,000, a $1,000 fine for each of the 414 fraudulent immigration forms.

4. Think of the potential security risk. What if the wrong person |
|
realized how easy it would be to get a job processing MRE's?
What if a batch got sent out with something wicked in them?

8. I'd bet a million bucks that the temp company that LOST the bid |
|
called the Feds to give a heads-up on the illegal (cheapest bid wins) employees.
I know that business and I'd have called.
