Texas Co. Using Illegal Aliens to Manufacture Troops MRE's

Employment firm pleads guilty to fraud charges (they falsified immigration forms -- e)

HARLINGEN - A San Antonio employment company has pleaded guilty to giving false information to FBI agents investigating a possible al-Qaida plot to poison military rations made in South Texas.

Remedy Intelligent Staffing, part of the San Antonio-based Tollin Group Inc., entered a guilty plea late Tuesday to a federal charge that it conspired to submit hundreds of falsified immigration forms to conceal the employment of undocumented workers at a McAllen food plant, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office in Houston.

The Wornick Co. hired Remedy to find temporary workers after receiving a $47.2 million government contract to produce 1.1 million Meals Ready-to-Eat for the invasion of Iraq.

9. THe gov't buys them by the case, not per MRE
I think the reporter screwed up. 4 bucks per MRE sounds about right to me. (Ate enough of them in my time!)

10. Yep, it's case lots
(Though, I'd hardly be surprised if it wasn't. Everybody's getting big schwag from Iraq. Except of course, the guys with guns pointed at them)

"Note: MREs contain 12 menus per case"

"Note: Box is the official issue of the MRE and HDR however cases and boxes will be used synonymously in this solicitation."

13. The could hire Emeril Lagasse to cook for them.
I mean, come on. For $50 a head, I can probably swing at least a two-star restaurant.
