Al Franken on Hardball was great!
I don't know why some people here rag on Franken. I think he does a great job.

1. I think most of the rag comes from his response post Nov 2nd, 2004
Disregarding election fraud issues.

6. Franken was great yesterday. He cheered Boxer on and said it's "historic".

3. That making charges of electoral fraud without proof...
...would be perceived by the general public as pathetic whining. (Kind of how we perceive the GOP loser of the Washington State Governor's race.) And that Democrats would be better off in upcoming races to simply point out all the things Bush is doing wrong.

Now I think he's exactly right, but for some, the idea that Bush actually won is sheer heresy. And it's made him one of THEM.

Of course, according to Democrat bashing Democrats, I'm of them too. So don't pay any attention to me.

4. I can't believe that freakin' Franken! There were hearings and
depositions etc discussing the fraud! How can he go on hardball and down play the truth...

So sad. I really liked his book.

12. that is what kerry did, merely pointed out what bush policy did
wrong adn what he wanted to do. kerry was mercilessly attacked for this, and he lost election thru theft

so i dont think the same thing kerry did is going to win it

but then, that would probably go with i am bashing you because i dont agree. you do see that he says, not that there wasnt fraud, just that it couldnt be proven. and since it cant be proven we should keep our mouth shut. simply doesnt make sense to me

5. He's the bridge from clueless to maybe heart-felt: We need him.
Al is certainly not a great radio talent, but that's part of why he's compelling. He's also sweet and big-hearted and non-confrontational. He'll bring in people who aren't ever going to be able to handle Randi's fire. I love it, but, well, I'm hard core. For people who are trying to escape their clueless conservative family, neighborhood, spouse, or childhood, he's a good bridge. He'll welcome a listener who happens to find him on the radio by mistake. Randi probably doesn't do that very often. You have to be ready for her, even on a good day. She may talk about her female parts, or surgery, or sex, or read x rated rap songs, and turn people away. Al's a good balance to her, and we need them both. We need one to get us hooked, and the other to get us up to speed. Al doesn't handle the facts all that well, but he handles hearts with love. I'm serious. he's a sweet man.

7. I think you're right.
I thought I would listen to him more than I do, but I've found myself listening to the hard-hitters. But his book was a gentle entry into LIES and LYING LIARS! Even though it was gentle, I nearly didn't get past the "Operation Ignore" section. I was furious with ** and just when I think I can't get more angry, he does something else.

We need the gentle and the hard-hitters.

8. I love Al's show and listen to him daily. I don't understand why you say
he is not a great radio talent? I vigorously disagree with you on the facts issue. His show is highly educational and presents a daily dose of facts that are sorely needed. Every day he and his guests counter right wing talking points with facts.
I find his show consistently entertaining and always get at least one good, hardy laugh. In these times that is something I sorely need.

9. The problem with Al is that he thinks the repukes are sincere
Al think that the gov told basic truth about 911, and the jets were hijacked by buncha terrs led by Muhammed Atta....and Al's wrong! There's nothing wrong with being wrong, providing there are others who are saying, loudly, on tv, during prime time, 'THE GOVERNMENT IS LYING every time it says anything about 911' and the media pushes the lies like the pharmaceutical pigs push dope (at enormous cost) but the general public isn't hearing even a watered down variance of this! Al Franken knows that the truth in newsmedia is being tweaked, at best, regards 911...and he think the problem with bush is that he's incompetent, a goof, a cowardly asshole etc when the truth is bush is the worst political criminal (or the frontman for them) in US history...that by itelf should alert AL Franken and other TRUSTING anti bush types who just want bush to 'do a good job' that bush is in fact 'doing a good job' for the evil bastards who pull bushinc's strings

10. I'm Hard-Core Too... But
then Democrats have ALWAYS been the party of the BIG TENT!! I'm more Randi than Al, but Welcome To All Who Will Stand WITH US!

I don't think the election was fair, I don't think Bush won and I'll NEVER precede the name Bush with President, but we need everyone to rid ourselves of these "power mongers" who have done so very little for just plain Americans!

This is MY COUNTRY TOO!
