Un-Freakin-Believable (conversation with my brother re: Williams)
Although I typically don't pick up the phone when my religious fanatical brother phones, this time he called before 11 p.m. (when the phone rates lower) and I was tricked into thinking it might be a family emergency. It wasn't. He just wanted to "chat" (read: see if I had finally come to my senses and starting going to church again).

Anywho... we get to discussing the news and this Williams business. He says (paraphrased), "I don't know what the big deal is. Obviously, the Bush administration feels it cannot get a fair shake from the liberal media. If they have to pay in order to bring a balanced view of their policies to me, I welcome that. I can think of no better use of my tax dollars than educating American citizens on the policies and programs initiated by Bush."

Oh yeah... he's looooooong gone. Idiot.

7. He's not drinking the Kool-Aid; he's eating it right out of the package.

2. He is beyond hope it appears. Even some Republicans are talking
about it and how outraged they would have been if it was Clinton and some pundit.

4. Sorry you had to go through that horrible experience.
My mother (to whom I barely speak) complained to my sister today that she would be lost without her social security (not quite true, but that's a whole other story - she has plenty she absconded with from her ex - my dad), and she thought Bush was going to mess things up. My sister told her (and this was fair and square) - "YOU voted for him!"

5. Ask him why Bush officials couldn't go on Rush, Hannity,
and O'Reilly to tout Bush's education bill without bribing Armstrong Williams.

8. Were our brothers separated at birth?
I can imagine my brother saying the same thing. He has told me all about the "liberal media."

Sympathies. I still hold that blood is stronger than politics, but that may not hold when the barricades go up.

12. Hey Gumby
Are you a Wyeth fan?

Got to see his stuff in South Carolina and for me it was a seminal event. I will never forget it.

17. Haven't had the "personal" connection to Wyeth.
However, I'll admit to lusting after a Remington.... Big Time.

9. Yeah right, like the Nazis had to counter all that Zionist propaganda
hopeless, hopeless.

If something like this had happened under Clinton, you'd never hear the end of it.

10. Ask him to name one (just one) liberal
In the media. I have used this on many pukes and (since they never listen to anything but Rush) they can't name even one! They resort to saying that MSNBC is liberal or some such nonsense. I ask them if they have ever heard of Noam Chomsky. Hell, I'll even settle for Gore Vidal but the lapdogs have never heard from the real left. I mean, these people think "colmes" is the left. Shit, he isn't even left of the right!

Fuck them! It is time to get some serious left on the media

13. Ah. Williams has said he would not do it again
and it was a lack of good judgement on his call. His employer has fired him. He himself said he crossed the line on journalistic ethics.
If your brother wished to defend someone who has plead guilty, and his employer has fired for him, let him be the idiot.

I just hope Mr. Williams reimburses the taxpayers.

15. I might also add that Williams
was a lackey of Thurmond. How sad for the black community.
