What you'll probraly hear from Bush tonight.

1) You'll be guaranteed to hear bush connect iraq as a "continuation of the war on terror" or some other form that connects Iraq to terroism, which as a country never took part in, regardless of the white house lies.
2)You'll be guaranteed to hear the post war iraqi mess compared to our time after the revolutionary war or world war 2. Both wars that were more justifiable and have a higher standing in the people's minds then to bush's iraq war..the goal for bush is to keep connecting post war iraq to those more noble causes.
3)You'll definetly be guaranteed to here bush promise to "continue our fight" or in other words, promising future wars, while stating the success that we've had so far (none of which is worthy of mention)
4)You'll be guaranteed to here bush use the word "liberate" as the excuse for war, rather then citing his lie to start the war, which was for WMD's
5)Finally if the poor economy is even mentioned, bush will most likely try to sell his energy policy as a way to improve it and "create jobs" The policy of course which is nothing more then a kick back to the big oil companys. That or tax cuts should be mentioned if he comes across this subject.

1. Well, good analysis, but
Those were pretty easy predictions. But I think that was your point.

This man gives the same speech over and over again, and people keep falling for it.

3. I don't know. Politically, he's in a bit of trouble, so my question
is do we think he'll do more tonight than trot out the usual bromides?

David Gergen had an idea that I think might help him, though I think he's incapable of it. Gergen said he should admit they "misunderestimated" the difficulties, then ask for patience and resolve. I actually think he would get some forbearance and sympathy if he did that--like JFK when he took responsibility for the Bay of Pigs.

Others are telling him to be honest--to level with the American people about the kinds of sacrifices (not Sacrifice in general, but sacrifices in specific--how much money, how long, how many troops, what it will do to the deficit, to spending on social programs, etc.) that will be required to accomplish whatever the hell we went over there to accomplish.

However, I think he is constitutionally incapable of both admitting mistakes and honesty, so . . . bye-bye Chicken George.

2. My Libertarian husband and I have a bet;
Will he use the words "Saddam Hussein"? He says he will, because he HAS to.

4. LOL. Read this prediction of what he'll say.
http://www.southknoxbubba.net/skblog/archive_2003_09.php#2014

"Good evening, fellow Americans. I am speaking to you tonight from the Oval Office, where there is no hanky-panky going on under the desk any more, to talk to you about our victory over there in Iraq, the first rest stop on the road map to peace.

(snip)

Socialist dictationships around the world fought us every step of the way and danced around the U.N. like a bunch of organ grinder monkeys for that communist hippie Kofi "give peace a chance" Annan.

Let me tell you tonight, and let there be no mistakenness about it. They were all wrong. We were right. And we have prevailed.

We have prevailed over terrorism, and those who would support them. We have prevailed over evil dictatorness and those who would further their brutal regimes. And yes, my fellow Americans, we have prevailed over the world's oil supplies, and those who would hold them hostage.

Yes, my friends, these are prevalations on which we can be proud of.

Let me just ask you tonight, the questions that I am certainly are all on your minds. Is our people safer? Is our children safer? Is our borders safer? Is our airports safer? Is our friends in the Middle East safer? Is the world safer from terrorisms?

You bet.

(snip)

And because all of it is off the books like a fancy rate swap derivitation, it does not affect our deficits at all. Also let me remind you that we have a fine Treasury Department. Did you know they have the most sophisticated printing presses in the world over there? If necessary, they can print up enough money to go around for everybody, with enough left over for some more tax cuts.

See, these are complicated things that most average Americans can't understand, so it is better to trust me and leave it to my experts.

And what about the human cost, you might ask? Let me just remind you about that socialist Democrat Franklin D. Roosenhoover fellow. Did you know that he sent millions of American boys over there to save the ungrateful French from some tinpot dictator who didn't even have atomic bombs like Saddam? I am told that hundreds of thousands of them died. For what? Did we get any oil out of the deal? No. Did we eliminate the threat of terrorism once and for all? Obviously not.

And we won't even mention that communist LBJ and the Vietnam war, which I proudly served in to defend our Nation from the Viet Congs and their falling dominoes.
