LOL-more W money management-I had never heard of Armstrong Williams
Edited on Sat Jan-08-05 11:45 AM by underpants
That just hit me. I read lots of pundits (both sides) but I was not aware of Armstrong Williams or at least his name didn't ring a bell. Okay I may not be in the "black community" but I do work in a predominantly black workplace and the local "black" paper (Richmond Free Press) is laying around and free anyway-I do read it.

So this is the ingenuous strategery that the White House initiated. They spent a quarter million dollars on a run of the mill sideline pundit. That is more indicative of how horribly run operations are than anything. What a complete waste of money...OUR money....TAXPAYER money (for those upset about our borrowing from China to pledge money to tsunami relief).

The other fact that this further cements is that Bush, who is portrayed as this tough guy business man, continually gets played and used. He wouldn't last a day on the street and his past record of failure proves that, but he rules at the country club. Yet their faithful continue to see him as a bada** and apparently some are so oblivious (or not curious) they think he is a self made "man". Hell I have actually read/heard that some think he flew in the Korean war-seriously.

Money well spent there Georgie. Any more bright ideas you want to share with us?

1. Boonedocks references him a lot...
...that was the first I'd ever heard of him. Then I'd heard a little more--nice values he has, the right-wing piece of shit.

Anybody good at math? How much of my tax money was used in that $240,000? I think I'll sue the putz for it back!

2. All of it was tax money at least a couple of generations from now
Every penny.

The coffers are empty. There is no money (except Social Security). The trucks were backed up to the Fed while the egg was hitting W's limo.

6. I 've already sent that grifting lowlife Williams an email demanding...
the return of my tax money. I suggest that everyone else do the same.

3. I've heard of him
I read a lot of conservative columnists for the Weblog. He doesn't have nearly as evil a vibe as say Walter E. Williams or many many others. For one thing he seems to have just a little compassion for the poor (although that doesn't get in the way of promoting programs that hurt the poor).

4. Walter E. Williams is a favorite of the local RW Times-Dispatch
He, for some reason, is their economic, excuse me, BLACK economic expert (hey! a two-fer)as a juxtaposition to Krugman and common sense.

There is a running feud in the T-D editorials about their publishing of Krugman and Ivins-the truth hurts sometimes.

I heard Williams sitting in on a talk radio show (Rush? Glenn Beck?) and he was bragging about how he makes his wife refer to him as DOCTOR Williams and he makes her rake the leaves. Seriously. Several callers were gushing in their admiration of this.

5. Armstrong Williams will do anything for money.....
not any different from Bob Novak, Larry King, Big Mouth Chris Matthews, that guy Lauder, etc. These people are private commentators and they are their own Fortunate 500 company one man show. Not any different from Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods or Rush Limpballs, etc. They are all paid by the republicans to take jabs at democrats. Their phone lines are directly connected to the White House. You can flip channel to channel, and they are all repeating the same words coming from the White House.

I've heard Armstrong Williams say horrible things even against Colin Powell, things the White House leaked out to crush Powell. For sure, you guys here are not surprised.

8. The blastfax
If I'm not mistaken there was a lawsuit stopping this practice. You could sign up to have the talking points daily faxed to you and it showed up at the wrong workplace, I think that is how the story goes.

Yes even Rush refers to it as "the echo chamber that is talk radio"-his listeners don't seem to pick up on that.

It all stems from the weekly meeting of Grover Norquist. They set what will be talked about and HOW it will be talked about and no this isn't a conspiracy theory everyone knows about it-Laura Ingram used to be invited but she dared right something off the party line and ZIP they pulled the cord on her.

10. Williams is losing a poll on his own website
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=104x2922950

Oh and he was an assistant to both Clarence Thomas (confidentially) and *GULP* Strong Thurmond.

Williams has also served as confidential assistant to the Chairman of the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas), presidential appointee to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, legislative assistant to U.S. Representative Carrol Campbell (former governor of South Carolina) and legislative aide and advisor to U.S. Senator Strom Thurmond.

they more I learn about this guy the worse it gets.
