Even though the revenue shortfall cut block grants to their states and made all their state and local taxes go up, especially the regressive ones.

They still think they got a tax cut from Reagan, who set high rates on labor into stone while hiking FICA six times and putting their overpayments into the general fund.

They still think they're middle class, even though they fall farther behind every year and are now charging up those credit cards for food and clothing.

I don't think anything will get through to those poor dopes until it all comes crashing down around their ears.

that I have talked to don't even watch the news. Now mind you these are the people in Ohio that elected shrub. I am surrounded by them here. One said..Kerry's gonna raise taxes so I'm voting for Bush (this person makes under 35K per year) Then the others think and I emphasize think they are in the upper 3%. They are some strong minded people who will never wake up.

I figure it'll take something really drastic to happen and somehow they'll blame it on Clinton.

Massive cuts in programs and great financial suffering might move some people. Apparently they can rationalize torture and an unjust war so more killing and torture isn't going to move them. ... vote the way they do not for fiscal reasons, but for moral and religious reasons. They may not think repubs are going to give them money, but they do think they are going to push their religious agenda.
