GOP begging Democrats for inauguration tickets
Check out this article that appeared in the Sun Times last week.

http://www.suntimes.com/output/elect/cst-nws-inaug29.html

"WASHINGTON -- It's one of the hottest tickets in Washington this winter, and unlike most of the parties planned for President Bush's second inauguration, it's free and the dress is come-however-you-can-stay-warm. But getting one of the 250,000 tickets to Bush's swearing-in ceremony on the steps of the Capitol won't be easy, particularly for people from so-called red states that voted Republican in November.

For most people, the only way they can get a ticket is through their senator or representative and the demand for them in GOP-majority states is running high.

Each senator, regardless of party, gets 400 tickets to distribute. House members get about 200 apiece. To meet the demand, Republican lawmakers are asking Democrats for their leftovers, since not that many Democrats plan to make the trip."

snip

The article goes on to say that Pukes in red states are getting huge requests for tickets but Dems in blue states might have some left over. I suggest we email our Senators and request tickets. Go to the inauguration and turn your back on Bush or just burn the tickets and keep them out of the hands of bushbots.

Good for you proud2Blib! I emailed Mikulski earlier. She even had a place on her site specifically for requests. I'm goint to email Sarbanes and my congresspeople too.

My husband did this in '93 and got tickets for Clinton's first inauguration.

23. Thank you!
How can we get more DUers to do this? I bet there are states that still have tickets available, especially the states that are further away from DC. These tickets are specifically set aside for constituents but most people don't know to ask for them. Wouldn't it be great if hundreds of DUers got tickets while the freepers didn't even think to ask for them? I think the response I got on the other thread might have been a freeper nibble, though, because he/she/it got tombstoned shortly thereafter.

26. I'm getting some links together...
to try to make it easier for people. I don't belong to any other forums, and my post count is so low here, I'm not sure people will pay attention or trust the info.

Here is a good link about the tickets with a link to contact your reps.

I think I'll go check out some of the Inauguration threads and post this link, too.

10. I bet you could get tickets.
A lot of constituents don't know about these free tickets or think they are just for Bush supporters. Anyone can get them. I bet your Wisconsin Senators and Representatives still have some available for constituents.

I love the idea of all the freepers being in their pathetic little zone far from the action while DUers are in the main crowd turning their backs on * or even sitting at home watching the tickets burn in an ashtray.

30. Funny you should mention that....
When the repug convention was in town here (Dallas, a long long time ago) I was chatting up this woman at this bar known as a meat market. Didn't usually go there, but it was close to home.

Anyway, she turned out to be a hooker in town for the repug convention. She said that they paid good and had a lot of business. She said that she had almost given up on going to the Dem convention, couldn't make enough money!

(No, I did not hire her - never have done that, never will.)

6. I was thinking about this last week
We could have had an effort as Democrats to grab the tickets, so that * could ride down empty streets flanked by empty bleachers. Would have been a beautiful thing.

8. There is still time!
Many Senators are still taking requests. Dem Senators in blue states will probably have tickets left over that they are going to give to the pukes.

32. why would the asshole democratic senators who didn't support our right
to vote now cooperate with the ReichWing by giving up their tickets? Any democratic senator who doesn't burn all 400 himself should be tossed out of the party. The democratic party begins to suck, you know?

12. I think it's obscene, too.
So write your representatives, get the tickets, wait until after the inauguration and frame them and sell them on eBay to some pathetic bushbot that didn't have the sense to write their own representatives. Then donate the money to the Tsunami relief efforts.

21. After you use it,
you can sell it on EBay.

There's bound to be an idiot out there who would pay a ton of cash for a shit stained inauguration ticket. And if you claim you can see Jesus's face in it, you may as well assume you won the lottery.

35. That's an evil idea...
...but I like it.

Anybody have a deep mole account on a freeper site? It would be fun to scan the tickets and post them on their site and offer to give them away. Then just don't send them. It wouldn't be illegal if you are offering to give them away. Mean, maybe, but not illegal.

Hey, lurking freepers! Beware of anyone offering you tickets to the inauguration. hahahahaha
