In CA-WAITING for the OTHER Candidates |
|
So, how important IS the democratic solidarity issue to the presidential candidates?
When are they getting off their asses and showing up here to lend support to the NO ON THE RECALL EFFORT?
If they are such fine candidates maybe they would take the lead of the man with cojones, HOWARD DEAN, and show up here to back Gray Davis , and tell the media this is the fourth attempt by right wingers to subvert democracy in three years, and they are tired of the right wing trying to pull this shit.
You would think.
Howard Dean has the balls to do this.
Does YOUR candidate? How about your General?
Where's the leadership now? :nuke:

1. Kucinich on California |
|
Kucinich has not been to California since the Recall crap heated up. He was questioned about it during a debate and he was pretty adamant in support of Gov. Davis as I recall. When He gets out here next, hopefully before the Oct 7 date,he will surely reiterate his support of Davis, I am sure. I am a Kucinich supporter and only candidate I trust. Next is Gephardt.I think both will support our governor against this usurpation of the democratic process.

3. As I said, I'm waiting |

Howard Dean rearranged his schedule for this. I like Dennis, he should be out front with Dean on this.

2. That's something that I've noticed. |

There's quite a lot of talk about why the timbre of the Dem candidates is a lot more harsh against bush - mainly because Howard Dean had the guts to say what needed to be said. He's set the tone, and the height of the bar at this point. I'm just glad he jumped in the pool and let them all know the water was fine. Now, they're all in, to one extent or other. The gloves have come off and they're now swinging with some pretty good buzz-phrase bats. I mean, just look at Gebhardt in the last debate - the "miserable failure" soundbite that's now gone everywhere.
But if Howard Dean hadn't amped up the rhetoric by seizing the initiative and the leadership and NOT being afraid to tell the truth about bush and his stupid war, the rest of 'em would all still be pussy-footing around like a bunch of pathetic panty-waists.
I'll go with the guy with the guts. He obviously wasn't paying much attention to the "polls" back when he first spoke out against the war, awhile ago when those of us who shared that view were otherwise crying in the wilderness and scorned as a bunch of leftist fringe lunatics and appeasers. NOW, we all look like successful psychics.

I hope all the Dem candidates make a point to go to CA and let all Californians know how the recall is changing our country and our rights as citizens. And they should let the rest of the country know also. If Democrats don't show unity for this entire country we will be bushwhacked again. This is certainly more than a problem for CA.

They are using this as a template for a national power grab, and don't kid yourself and think otherwise :nuke:

7. Recall will backfire for Repigs... |
|
The country and the world already know Cruz Bustamante, and he will be the next governor of California, either if Davis is recalled or if the recall fails against Davis. Cruz is a champ!

8. I'm still shooting for the recall to fail |
|
we have the numbers, but as usual there is SO much disinformation out there; like the myth that no one likes Davis...I see that one here at DU often.
If only they understood what a recall passing will cost us , no matter who wins....its in the BILLIONS in extra interest.

10. Imagine what a great photo-op it would be.. |
|
If ALL of The Nine would go to California for a photo-op with Davis, standing shoulder-to-shoulder. THAT would be even more impressive.
Having said this, I'm not surprised that Dean actually showed-up and stood next to Davis. When the governor's approval rating is less than 25% and Dean's willing to stand-up next to him, that's courage.
