Better DEAD than Jeb!
Fine, if that asshole is going to run for office in '08, let this be our slogan.

2. You think that this many people will put up with this level of nepotiism?
They cannot hit the trifecta on this one.

8 years of Jeb
8 years of Neil
8 years of George P

8 years of Jenna
8 years of Noelle

and all the time, the Jesusistas will caress the cross the way the Nazis caressed the swastika...

4. as a resident of florida
i am offended that you are implying that i have anything to do with jebbles.

seriously though, i have heard that he is a boozer like his brother "used to be". if you look at how patchy his face is, and the massive weight gain between the late 90's and today, it's pretty apparent that he is on the sauce.

i know that is off topic, but i have a professor at FSU that confirms that he has a drinking problem, so that alone should preclude him from getting past the republican primary.

now all we have to worry about is the gingrich that stole '08.

7. At one time, I thought "Newt for President" would be impossible.
Then Dubya took office.

Now, all bets are off. Anything is possible these days.

But personally, my money is on Jeb. Don't know how he'll reconcile the Catholicism and the "race-mixing" with his hispanic wife and kids with the WHITE Anglo-Saxon PROTESTANT fundies yet, though.

12. right on!
Jeb's hispanic family oughta drive the crackers in the flyover states bonkers.

also, Jeb will most certainly LOSE Florida if he runs in '08. Even the FL republicans are sick of him.

so maybe running him is a good thing?

Newt is what scares me. there will probably be another terrorist attack in 07 or 08.......i'm guessing 08 so the republicans can keep make it the only issue - the attack will probably have another coincidentally catchy date like 08/08/08 or something - you know, so it can become a mantra like 9/11! 9/11! maybe manufacture Cuban involvement....did i say manufacture? i meant discover, really i did. and Newt's entire campaign will be TERROR! and liberating cuba. oh, and privatizing everything.

man, these tinfoil hats sure keep your head warm.

15. Newt's problem is, he has ZERO charisma whatsoever
The Grinch has about as much charm as a dead fly stuck to the adhesive of a post-it note. I think there will be at least a dozen other GOP candidates that will easily overtake him in the primaries. Even Dubya has some charisma, small and repulsive as it (and he) may be.

19. i agree, dubya looks and acts like roscoe p. coltrane.
pure charisma. if you close your eyes and imagine that cheney is boss hogg, you might get a laugh.

well........newt does have some charisma. he's white, has a white wife, white children, and believes in jayzus. that oughtta appeal to at least 25 million voters with a total of 51 million teeth.

as for dead fly's and post-it notes, gingrich probably pulled the wings off the fly. nuff said.

you are probably right about newt being overtaken in the primaries...i hope you are right. it will most likely end up being Rudy "Renfield" Giuliani.

6. I wondered about that
(Floridian living in exile here.)

I've wondered about Jeb's porking out over the last couple of years -- if alcohol was involved. So he's a boozer!

Still, not sure that this precludes him from the presidential run. No -- Mr Rove is "branding" the Bush family, and I agree with the other poster that if people are crazy enough to have voted W in 04, they will be nuts enough to vote Jeb in '08. Only thing to stop it will be the utter discrediting of the Bush family and the NeoCon political philosophy, by then.

9. I'm pretty sure It'll be Dick
As much as the right wants to reintroduce the concept of ruling by Divine Right, I think they'll have to wait a couple of years before taking the next step. They'll let Cheney keep the seat warm for Jeb Caesar.

This is of course assuming that we're even still here in 2008.

20. Keeping Cheney as VP is proof that Jeb is running in '08 or '12
There is no way in hell Cheney could ever be president. He has the charisma of a rock. Usually, a party will choose a VP that has a chance of running for Pres later. But Bush kept Cheney cuz he doesn't want any competition for Jeb in the future

If you think that Jeb won't get the vote of "rank and file" Republicans that is correct. But Jeb is targeting the spanish speaking immigrant population. George could grant anmesty to MILLIONs of illegal aliens currently in the US and turn then into a Jeb Bush voting block with one stroke of the Presidential pen.

23. Well, it's not like
We'd have to elect him or anything. The need for candidates to be able to sell themselves to the people is pretty much gone. It's just a question of who gets picked to sit on the throne - if our rulers decide it's Dick, then it's Dick.
