Al Franken and Julie Andrews' song? |
|
On Al Franken's radio show, he plays a game with callers named "Wait, Wait, Don't Lie to Me."
The caller needs to determine whether a Republican quote is a lie, the truth, or weasel words.
When it's weasel words, Al Franken plays a clip of Julie Andrews from "The Sound of Music" singing a song with yodelling.
What is the connection between a Republican trying to mislead us with weasel words, and Julie Andrews yodelling/

1. well, it's a bit of a stretch... |
|
they have a category called "Liesle" which is a cross between a LIE and a WEASLE.
Liesel was the name of one of the Trapp children in Sound of Music.
like I said, a BIT of a stretch....

In the game, a 'liesel' is a combination of a lie, and weasel words.
Get it?
Layee odl, layee odl, lay-ee-o!
