Who is the Worst Television Conservative?
I'm stuck between Scarborough and O'Reilly.

Scarborough's nasty tone irritates me. And he has that stupid Reagan soundbyte ("There you go again.") just to get people's patriotism worked up. So, so cheap.

O'Reilly is horribly insincere. One day he's praising Christmas as a "secular holiday" and the next he's saying "secular" as though it's a bad word. And his defense of the black kids at that prom in Georgia was so forced (the guy made many racist comments in the past. check it out at www.fair.org ).

In the end though, I'd go with O'Reilly as my most hated simply because he's more influential to the masses.

2. Hannity, then again ...
Then again, I saw this Bill Kristol guy the other night on Bill Maher. The second I looked at him, even before he opened his mouth, I just wanted to smash his face. I didn't even know who he was!! (I'd never seen him before). Then he opened his mouth and proved what my first impressions were.

Man, what a despicable potential punching bag that f**kwad is.

Bill Kristol is a fanatical NeoCON. The first time I saw him, I thought I was staring into the eyes of evil. He really is a despicable f**kwad.

To think his propaganda magazine Weekly Standard sells like hot muffins. It's really sad.

Policies and politics aside, he doesn't scream, talk over you, name call...

I can at least watch a show when he is on. The others make me switch channels or throw things.

9. All those mentioned are more than repulsive
Linda Chavez is the slimiest female commentator even beating Anne Coulter who just comes across as a throaty ditzhead. Bob Novak is a fraud, mouthing what the conservatives want to hear not realizing that he boringly drones on with tongue in cheek.

Edited on Sun Sep-07-03 04:10 PM by lib4life
I'm not so sure. Linda Chavez is drunk on right-wing Kool-Aid, but she's not nearly as vicious as Coulter, at least on the surface. BTW, this may not count, but David Horowitz has become the most vicious conservative I've seen. (He's on TV a lot).

26. my Linda Chavez story
She was on MPR a few months back talking up conservatism and smaller government and blah blah blah. I called in and asked if conservatives are really for smaller government anymore. I said that if you look at the current admin's policies, they do nothing but expand government.

She said I had a point! But then she backtracked and said that it's okay because the first job of the federal government is defense, and since all the expansion has been for defense, it's okay. I didn't get a chance to rebut the rebuttal.

but his witless sidekick Steve Malzberg (Falzberg?) is even worse. O'Reilly is hard to take sometimes, but like all the talking heads (Hannity, Tony Snowjob, etc.), it's easier to take if you recognize them as entertainers, rather than journalists.

He could be the dumbest guy on television. And no, I am not spewing a biased opinion because I don't consider myself as a democrat (at least not yet). Sean Hannity is truly repulsive because he simply demonizes people because they disagree with his worthless and semi-informed opinion.

The lives of ANYONE in Iraq don't mean shit to that idiot--only that Bush is getting his War on. He's a poster child for total bullshit. He pimped Chimpboys up and coming War last winter and spring like it was a coffee clatch or something. No one was going to get hurt and SH would be out of power--yeah,it happened just like that dipwad.

Hannity was to young for Vietnam but he sure as HELL could have joined up in the late 80's to rid the world of evil like SH. Nah...a direct quote from Hannity--"Military life isn't for me" No shit Sean....

39. Bob "No Facts" Novak for me.
That smug sense of entitlement he carries into his arguments is positively stomach-turning, not to mention transparent.

Here's some lovely backpedaling, delivered in his characteristic smug know-it-all tone, from last night's Capital Gang on CNN:

Mark Shields: Bob Novak, this isn't a fine-tuning, this is a 180 change in policy. This is an administration that bandied the word "irrelevent" about every time the word "United Nations" was mentioned. Now, it's hat-in-hand.

Novak: This is the policy that Secretary of State Powell and Deputy Secretary Armitage wanted from the the first. The Pentagon didn't want to bring in the UN. It was a mistake. The testimony before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee by the Pentagon people showed they weren't ready for this, they thought it was going to be a cakewalk. So they made a mistake! The question is now, of course it has become a political issue. The Democrats think they can make a lot of political hay out of this mistake. But, uh, it was a mistake, and now I think it's been corrected.

47. Hannity is the BEST TV conservative
because exemplifies all that the right wing republican media is today. He is a hypocritical, smug, arrogant, slimy, vulgar little maggot.

He cannot engage in any sort of meaningful debate so instead talks over and cuts off anyone getting close to unmasking his simple minded platitudes.

Like all conservatives he accuses "liberals" of revisionist history, yet as they all do he revises the reasons for the US invasion of Iraq on a monthly basis to keep up with the debunking of the prior months reason.

So many reasons, too little time. OK, another is the way he sucks up to C&W folks like Charlie Daniels. Charlie's "music" is flag waving drivel to the max. Mindless, ignorant lyrics combined with 5th grade level composition sung by a soulless chickenhawk.
