With all of the people that Bush* has pissed off, is it possible that he has them aimed at China, Russia, Germany, France, Iran and Syria? Sooner or later our troops won't be able to keep up with the demands. Then we will have nothing left but the nuclear option.

1. I think I read recently that Russia is still the target
but Iraq has the WMD, so who knows. Bush may have re-directed them.

2. Some years ago I read they were targeted at the Atlantic and Pacific.
They can be retargeted vey quickly. I am sure targeting information is a closely held secret as well as how a decision for response is made. I do wonder how effective this really is after watching a certain bumbling idiot sit in a classroom after we were being attacked in New York City. I would imagine there are situations that would move even this moron to action.

4. Related question:
Why are we allowed to have nukes, but we freak out if certain other countries have them or are even suspected of having them or making them?

What makes us so inherently more trustworthy? Iraq sure shows we aren't....

10. Combined with a psychotic den mother
Once again, America engages in actions that we invade and conquer other countries for. I guess just because we're white, blonde, blue-eyed, God's children, master race, whatever.

7. China, Iran and Russia
If we have to now buy our bullets from Taiwan will we start buying our nukes from the Russian blackmarket?

8. Knowing Bush's environmental policies
I wouldn't bet against the probability there are a few nukes aimed at national parks and undeveloped wilderness areas.

9. I would suspect New York, Los Angeles, Seattle
After detonation whose gonna know, or even care, where they came from.

Nah... They would never attack Americans in a game of subterfuge, that,s just silly.

11. My best guess
would be the majority at Russia and the former Soviet States. With a few pointed at China, North Korea and the Middle Eastern oil fields.

13. The last thing Bush would do is nuke the oil fields.

But, you can bet we have nukes point there in case we were to lose control of the middle east. All major population centers in the ME have weapons pointed at them. Think of it as a bargaining chip with OPEC. If I was to guess I would say it is likely they are tactical weapons not ICBMs with multiple warheads out of silos. Maybe nukes off boomer subs, things like that. The pentagon has war gamed this out and it would be their 'Doomsday Scenario'.

Just my opinion and I hope you are right.

I should add that we probably have them pointed at all nuke capable nations.

12. russia and the former soviet union
If you're talking about the ICBMs and the nuclear subs, I suppose there are some aimed at China and India as well but my understanding is that most remain pointed at the old targets in the former USSR. Talk about spending $10 million to hit a camel in the butt!
