60 minutes
Edited on Sun Jan-09-05 10:43 PM by SHRED
So I am thinking maybe a segment on Ohio or Iraq or Gonzales.
Nope.

50 cal. gun(yawn), another classical musician story(barf), and dogs that sniff disease(like you will ever see one).

Good god that show has sure gone way downhill from what it was, 25 years ago.

1. It's becoming like SNL
Old, moldy, ineffectual and afraid to do anything innovative in case it might "influence the election".

7. Bad show! Bad!
We stopped watching it this year. What a joke it is. There's not a single journalist on TV anymore. And, please, someone send Leslie Stahl to Iraq to wipe that taffy-headed smile off her face. What? I missed another classical musician story????

2. Andy Rooney is one person I never want to meet.
The guy is always so incredibly bitter about everything. I know that's his schtick, but I wouldn't be the least surprised if his 60 minutes character transcends to his real life.

6. I like Andy Rooney. He reminds me of my grampa (R.I.P.) in a good way.
He's not afraid to share his opinions on how our culture has shifted over the years, for better or worse. I think Andy (and my grampa too, fwiw) is correct in his observations more often than not.

3. Ignoring the obvious is a skill that our media have developed into a
high art.

5. I dunno...
... the piece on the 50 cal. scared the piss out of me. Those things - with the armor piercing explosive shells - could do some pretty spectacular things. Couple that weapon with some of the posts we see in Freepland, and .....

Not to defend 60 Minutes, but I don't think anybody CAN do Iraq stories these days. The military has totally clamped down on reporting the everyday bad shit. (The big, spectacular shit, they can't supress, but the everyday stuff is just not making it out.)

8. I agree. Who really NEEDS a 50 cal. rifle?

The CEO of the manufacturing company called it a "toy." Yeah, right!

And then they mentioned one of its uses being for hunting . . .

:grr:

What exactly does a person "hunt" that they need a 50 cal. rifle to bring down the prey?
