Santa Cruz to ask Congress to look into impeaching Bush

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. (AP) - The city of Santa Cruz is no stranger to left-leaning political firsts and it's poised to add another as the city council looks to become the first lawmaking body in the nation to ask Congress to look into impeaching President Bush.
Santa Cruz leaders want to see Bush dumped, charging he misled the American public about the war on Iraq and ran roughshod over civil rights. The council will consider Tuesday a measure that, if passed, would give members the the go-ahead to send a letter of inquiry to Congress.
