Gray Davis is "Too Grey"....or Grey Davis is "Too Gray".needs Tan. |

There are places now that you can walk in and they will spray that "fake tan" stuff all over you so you don't get streaks. Grey/Gray Davis needs a "color consultant." He comes across flat because he is "Grey." Monotone, monocolor.....and when one looks at Bustamonti and Schwartzenegger he looks like someone who spends all his time inside a dark room in front of a computer screen. The other two (mainly because they have great genes (Maybe) tend to have that "healthy outdoor "California look."
No matter what comes out of Grey/Gray's mouth......he will always be Grey/Gray......until he can look more healthy............:-)'s BTW: Not meaning to be mean here.....I was at my local mall today and I looked very Gray/Grey when I caught my reflection.....and I realized a little more "blush" and being outdoors might help me......not here of course.....but elsewhere when I have to do "Image Stuff."
These things MATTER!

I'll take your word for it. It doesn't matter to me, and I don't really relate. But I see that many people really value the outer image.
I should probably invite you to make me over. I've spent 2 decades doing my best to be so neutral as to be unnoticeable. The goal: to pass through a room full of people without anyone knowing I was ever there. I guess that's not the goal for a politician, huh?

3. LWolf......I don't know....but people like to see folks looking happy/ |

healthy.......Sometimes we forget........when we are involved with what we love to do......
If you've spent 2 decades trying to be "neutral as to be unnoticeable"......I wonder why........but not knowing your psyche or profession I wouldn't dare to pass judgement one way or the other.
But, a politician Definitely needs to have a "healthy, vibrant image." It goes back to the Nixon/Kennedy Debates where Nixon looked pallid and sweaty......and Kennedy (who used a "make up person" and suffered from Addison's Disease, looked healthy and sunwept.) Politicians since have really tried to enhance their image......
I don't necessarily like it....it's fake, in many ways.......but I've spent so much time on my computer this Summer I almost "passed out" at my "pallid/gray" appearance today in my Mall mirrors.
It matters to me......I need more time in the sun......I don't like looking like a Bush Disaster......and he's aging me.....I don't like that control. I'm normally a happy "sun-filled" personality, I do care about this.....but then.....I'm female.......of a certain generation who really cares about this kind of thing........... :-)'s

4. Many Californians don't go out in the sun to tan. |
|
We know it causes skin cancer. So, give our Guvner a break. Maybe a Hawaiian shirt could brighten him up though. :-)

8. I don't remember Mr. Rogers being "monochromatic." He had dark hair.. |
|
when I first saw him and it contrasted with his sweaters and he didn't look like he was so pale he might "fade away.." To me, at least........

Your color is your color, that's it. White people have pale skin, sometimes paler, sometimes even a whiter shade of pale (someone better pick up on that reference).
I don't see Gray as grey; I see Gray as a white man, like Dean, Dennis, Dick, Kerry, Bob, John, or any other caucasian. I never thought of him as unhealthy looking, nor do I think of caucasians who may have spent some time in the sun, or gotten a fake tan, as being healthier or more robust, or competent.
I don't understand what the problem is.

7. "People of Color" often look more "healthy" than others or "Tanning Craze" |
|
wouldn't exist........If you are of a certain Irish/Anglo Saxon Heritiage....you can look very tired or grey/gray no matter what you do.
But, the world we exist in today in America is filled with People of Vibrant Colors! All kinds of colors.
Why shouldn't we of the Irish/Anglo......groups (who inherited a certain "pallor" and who turn red in the sun) not want to "fit in?" And, those of us who enjoy being pale should have their right to do so.......But one must be very "exceptional today" to overcome one's "skin color." Being "Pallid Grey/ or Dark Black/or Mocha/or Yello/or Ivory, etc.
We live in a world where appearance to the Media is important......We "pales" wash out really bad in front of strong camera or flourescent lights......
That's all...........no one wants to look sick!
