I am switching to the Republican Party
It seems the fastest way for a black man to get paid in this country is to promote the Republican agenda. I am amazed at how many blacks the Republicans have representing them on the Sunday morning talk shows, and any other political show for that matter. I have been saying for the longest while that these guys must be getting paid because I find it hard to believe so many blacks would fall hook line and sinker for this right wing agenda which has hijacked this country and has taken us down Bush's path of pure evil.

So, my friends here at DU, I am sorry, but my family needs the money, call me a sellout if you wish, but family is more important, I am black, I am not bad looking, I speak fairly well, I can do a good job bullshitting my way through anything, I think it's time I contact the Republican party and start getting some free money. What say you?

Prominent conservative commentator Armstrong Williams acknowledged yesterday that he was paid $240,000 by the Department of Education to promote its initiatives on his syndicated television program and to other blacks in the media.

4. Wasn't directed at you
It was directed at the Republican penchant for buying-off minorities to suit their purposes......

Didn't mean to offend.

17. I wasn't offended, thought socalover might be (even though he was
sarcastic in his posting).

But you're right in your assessment. That's good marketing on behalf of the admin, know your target market and the message needed to reach them. Or invent the message needed to move them.

6. Yeah! If I can get a quarter of a million dollars for promoting the GOP
I just might to it as well!!!

However I'm white so that might be a factor in determining my market value.

18. Hey, if I was paid $250 thousand to say something nice
about a bush policy, I might consider it. I do need some work done on the house, and my car needs some work.

8. You should only do this if you got a message from God
telling you to do it. And if you think it really was a message from God, check the grammar.

10. I think the going price for a soul is much, much less than that
at least, it appears to be for all those people who voted Repuke . . .

Don't be surprised if you don't get much, since you don't own any airtime . . .

11. Good Luck with that...
Seems like most of the people who switch to the Republican party get swindled.

The thing to do is register independent or stay democrat, but discuss with their campaign people how to surreptitiously get money from them by disseminating their talking points. They would much rather pay for treachery than allegiance.

13. Didn't the IL GOP retire Alan Keyes' old campaign debt?
So he could run for Senate. That was around 1/2 a Megabuck, if memory serves...

Shit, at those prices, *I* would be a Ho for the GOP.

I went to the crossroad

I went to the crossroad
Fell down on my knees
Asked the Lord above "Have mercy now,
Save poor Bob, if you please"

Robert Johnson wasn't using his soul either.
