POV on PBS is showing a documentary of Illegal Immigrants who |

have created a town of thir own in Newburgh NY. Only 1 person has papers..and none on the documentary speak English. They say they have created their own litlle Mexico in Newburgh.
Interesting story.

Go figure. The nerve to make a movie and admit being here illegaly.
I must be way off the mark because I think this is wrong...and illegal immigration is a major issue in this country...getting worse and worse...and I am not opposed to "legal" immigration.

if there weren't unscrupulous employers eager to hire them.
Once while riding the bus in Portland, I overheard (with my rudimentary Spanish) two Latino men talking about how one local employer paid only three dollars an hour to the men who gathered outside the 7/11 on East Burnside at dawn every day.
Sure, deport the illegal workers, but also levy confiscatory fines on the employers, enough so that they're either forced to hire legal workers or go out of business.
