We are being had again. 60 minutes. |
|
The headline should be a former Attorney General's investigation of several months could not prove the documents to be forgeries. So how the hell could come smart ass right wing bloggers tell in 5 minutes ? We were had then and we are still being had now.
I wish someone from CBS would have the guts to say this, and also to point out the woman who was Killian's secretary at the time said the words in the memo reflected what Killian felt at the time. And that idiot Hodges also admitted this when he thought there was a record of it. Only after when he knew people were questioning the documents did he change his story.

7. It could have been Brent Bozell |
|
He and his associate, Greg Mueller, were the crucial intermediaries who moved the "forgery" story from "Buckhead" to Drudge. And Bozell's crusade against the "liberal" media had been targeting CBS and specifically Dan Rather at least since 1984.
No doubt it was a nice little plus for Rove, but I really suspect Bozell was the one at the heart of it.

It wouldn't surprise me at all after the Williams story came to light. Gawd, we're in big trouble.

...somewhere, somehow they should remind people that that story was not about documents regarding Bush's performance in the National Guard. The story was about Ben Barnes who came forward to admit that he'd pulled strings to get Bush into the Guard ahead of others who were on the waiting list. THAT was the original story. Too many people seem to have forgotten that. I don't think Bush's minions even bothered trying to discredit Barnes because everyone's attention was focused on those documents.
