Questions about 9/11

1. Is there any speculation that the plane that crashed in Pennsylvania was actually shot out of the sky?

2. Did you "unite under Bush" in the week after the attack or did you roll your eyes at the phony patriotism and the gigantic sales of made in China American flags?

1. okay...
1. There's tons of speculation that Flight 93 was shot down over Pennsylvania, including at least one eyewitness who claims to have seen a second plane fly over directly after Flight 93 hit the ground.

2. For about one week, I rallied round the flag in solidarity with my country - although Bush's phony patriotism was obvious to me from the start. Within a week, I saw how xenophobic and phony the flagwaving was becoming, so I took down my flag out of sadness and disgust.

2. The first thing I said
Was that the attack was a result of Bush's statements about not wnating to get involved in the "Nation building thing" with the Palestinians that he made after getting elected, and that terrorist decided they were going to force him to get the U.S. involved again.

Its amazing how the U.S. allow Israel to allow a small group of extremists to control the show. We shoiuld drop AIPAC and Sharon like a hot rock and start backing the Israeli Peace.

The Sharon/Bush axis has resulted in more dead on either side than had occurred in the prior ten years.

5. flight 93 evidence
from the classic uk daily mirror article:

"THE WITNESSES

At least SIX witnesses, including Susan Mcelwain saw a small military type plane flying around shortly BEFORE UA93 crashed. The FBI denies its existence

THE DEBRIS

The US Government insists the plane exploded on impact yet a one-ton section of the engine was found over a mile away and other light debris was found scattered over eight miles away

THE MOBILE CALL

Passenger Edward Felt made an emergency call from the plane. He spoke of an explosion and seeing some white smoke. The superviser who took the call has been gagged by the FBI."

7. Yes to the first question.
I did not rally around the flag or the president. There were two items that I felt didn't make sense - the threat against Air Force 1 and the "fact" that the plane that hit the pentagon circled Washinton looking for the White House, couldn't find it, so hit the pentagon instead.

Within 2-3 days it was reported they were lies. So at that point I figured if the government is going to start lying then, what else are they lying about. Then the story about the fireman's badge? Haven't heard about that one in a long time. A monther who lost her son in the collapse gave Bush his badge to say thank you for a great job he was doing. Seems that was a a lie too. 1. The Bush people asked her for the badge. 2. The same scene was used by Daddy Bush only it was a soldiers badge or something. It played so well then, they decided to reuse it for 9-11.

Now all this is in the first 3 days. And my friends wonder why I'm so ballistic about these people.

8. My answers
1: I have heard enough speculation, and enough conflicting reports to hosnestly say I don't know what happened to down flight 93. I don;t know if it was passenger heroics, terrorist desperation or a sidewinder missile. I honestly doubt I will ever know the whole story.

2: I rallied around the country and I put up a flag after 9/11. I rallied to calling of my patriotism and my outrge over the attacks. Is that "Uniting under Bush?" I was critical of him then and made up part of the 10% that didn;t approve. I am critical of him now, but nonetheless I was (an am) supportive of efforts to reduce or eliminate terrorism. I initially supported the attack on Afghanistan, until it turned into supporting the NA in their civil war -- that was not our mission. That being said, I don't support many of the methodologies and/or strategies that have been put into place by the administration.

9. Sadly, I too rallied around the flag.
Took me ten months to snap out of it. When I broke out, though, I broke in a big way. Ended up ripping the flag off my car in anger.

I forget what it was, exactly - just one final lie that broke through, I suppose. My attitude had always been "Well, at least he's not fucking things up worse, I'll give him that."

Now I see him for the murdering traitor he is.

10. Flight 93 website
This website contains a buncha links and an interesting discussion board:

http://www.flight93crash.com/index.html

Some of the links are to very early stories that ran in local PA papers in the first days after the crash. Info that would later be buried (due to visits from the FBI?) is included in some of those articles, like the fact that body parts were found ~8 miles from the crash site. The website doesn't lean one way or the other, but rather looks at evidence supporting several possible theories.

As for "uniting under Bush," I never have united under the twerp and 9/11 certainly didn't change that. My husband and I were among the thousands stranded in Newfoundland in the wake of the attacks, so we had a slightly different perspective on things. It was blatantly obvious from the get-go that the Smirk Regime was gonna play the attacks for all they were worth, propaganda-wise. And the "official" Let's Roll story of Flight 93 certainly bolstered my gut feelings about the Regime's plans. For months after the attacks, I'd rant to my husband that the American economy under Smirk had been reduced to foreign-made American flags and gas masks.

Anyway, I recommend the Flight93crash.com site. Lots of good stuff there.

11. I "united", but it was not for *, it was for my home town. . .
which lost several residents that tragic day. This weekend, I'll be taking part in a walk-a-thon for the town's local charity group organized for the families affected.

12. yes, no
There is a 9-11 forum here at DU. If you can wade through the flame fests, pretty much every theory about 9-11 is discussed in detail, including the shootdown of Flight 93.

I'm a 10 percenter (actually an 8 percenter). I HATED and DISTRUSTED Shrub even more after 9-11 (and I wouldn't have believed it possible). I concluded that LIHOP was the likeliest explanation over the next couple of weeks.

13. Speculation probably not quite unjustified
There was another thread, mentioning that it is still not possible to come close to the "crime scene", as it is still guarded:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=125&topic_id=2297

Does a place not lose the "crime-scene-quality" once the investigation is closed?

I am not aware of any pictures that show recognizable pieces of debris.
But even the Lockerbie crash 1988, caused by a bomb, produced large pieces of plane wreckage that was photographed. Not so in the flight 93 case.
Another plane (the other being flight 77 / Pentagon) that dematerializes?

14. I rallied around the flag and would do the same again
1- I don't see why they would hide it if they did shoot it down. I wish they had because as it stands I don't have much confidence in our nations ability to react quickly in defense.

2- The US got hit and at those times it is proper to unite as a people and as a nation. Patriotism is a GREAT thing, nationalism is not.

15. "to react quickly in defense"
But there are established procedures that prescribe exactly how to react when an airplane is hijacked.
The incident when golfer Payne Stewart crashed with his plane (Oct. 25, 1999) showed how quickly fighter jets could react. You could have been confident.
Only, on 9/11, normal procedures did not seem to count any longer.
