All In The Family / Archie Bunker |
|
We need a show like that again. All in the family made people look at the way they thought about things and poked fun at some of the bigoted and ill informed persons.
Now we have almost come to the point where the Archie bunkers are running the country because we ceased to make fun of their ignorance.

1. Yep. Of course, we'd hear SO much whining about how we are picking on the |

little ol' conservatives again. *lol* ---------------------------------------------------------- Save this nation one town, county, and state at a time! http://timeforachange.bluelemur.com/electionreform.htm#why

2. AITF is still on all the time- and (sadly) still relevant! |

I am watching All in the Family right now!
But, I do know what you mean about no show today really breaking boundaries like All in the Family did.
I wonder, what would that show look like?
The main/Archie character could be some misinformed, hard working, working class guy, voting for bush, thinking the poor are lazy, supporting the war, saving up for an SUV. The meat head/Mike character could be some radical leftist Dean supporter who marries the family's liberal daughter.
I don't know how much different it would be from the original. Which, again, I will say is sad as all hell.
