What to say to those Hollywood-bashers...
Edited on Mon Jan-10-05 09:15 PM by bobweaver
Say, "Yeah, those Hollywood types make me sick. Who the hell do they think they are, getting all political. I just want to wring their necks - Charlton Heston, John Wayne, Sonny Bono, Dennis Miller, Tom Selleck, Ronald Reagan, Arnold Schwarzenegger - they make me want to puke. They should just keep their mouths shut and make movies, not political statements."

3. John Wayne was a Democrat...And fairly liberal if I'm not mistaken.
As for the rest, I DO wish they would just shut-up. Liberal or not. I don't think there's anything wrong with just wanting to be "Entertained" by "Entertainers"...I like forgetting about politics sometimes.

That being said...I don't mind the Gropinator speaking his mind though...He's ran for office and won.

4. You are right
I prefer entertainment to politics most times from any and all actors. Though sometimes I thin its rather sad that because you made a couple decent movies or were on a TV show people will listen to you about a cause and believe you, while those who may have been in the trenches fighting for that cause for years get ignored.

5. John Wayne was a rethug
"Politically outspoken off screen, Wayne had actively embraced the attack on Hollywood leftists during the McCarthy period and thereafter generally supported Republican policies and candidates"
