I figured out why Fundies piss me off.
They've given up on what I value most about this country--life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. They've reduced it all to "what would Jesus do?". They are really not giving Jesus much credit--he would be a Democrat and strengthen the social service net--that's what Jesus would do. Okay, I'm over it now.

Or anyone else's just God. It's a fundamentalist rush to power--American Taliban.

2. Wow! I'm impressed!
You could only come up with one reason to be pissed at the scumdamentalists.

My list of reasons fundies piss me off would be much, much lengthier ... starting with "They attempt to impose their outdated 'values' on others who don't share their beliefs" right on down to "They breathe the same air I do."

5. Well, I think all the crimes against humanity stem from
the idea that that have a vision of Jesus--pounded into them from birth--that is a smokescreen for mean spirited, small minded preachers that don't know anyone or anything past their tiny territory in life. God help us!

3. Nah -- don't get over it. The fundamentalists are tyrants.
And you're right -- they reduce the grand panorama to "What Would Jesus Do?"

Jesus would probably puke if he could see what these people are up to in his name.

Jesus would shit a brick. Died on the cross for intolerance, selfishness, small mindedness, provincialism and hate. Jesus, you were betrayed more than once!

11. By now the distinction should be clear enough.
Francis of Assissi was a fervent Christian.

Jerry Falwell, Pat Robertson, Jim Dobbins, and Franklin Graham are fundamentalists.

Fundamentalists. Tyrants. Bullies. Anti-Intellectual, Anti-Science, Fear-Mongering, Hate-Mongering

assholes.

12. People can be fervent about their Christianity
and not shove it down everyone else's throat. And not try to make it the legal policy or law of the land. If you fall into this category, fuck off. I will not apologize for calling this type of christian a "fundie". As Skittles said, you assume wrong.

13. Extremist Right-Wing Christians= Fundies
War-happy folks egotistical enough to work in bringing about the end of the world, instead of leaving it up to God.

Also ignore Christ's message at nearly every turn.

Also: hypocrites.

So, you've no need to be offended.

24. Polite response to a Tombstone (Atrichea, we hardly knew 'ya!)
I've always found "Fundy" offensively cute;. I don't call vegetables "veggies", either.

Strictly speaking, (Christian) Fundamentalists follow what they consider to be the Biblical basics of the faith. Political involvement is not necessary; many Fundamentalists have avoided it, in the past. Evangelicals want to preach their faith; if you don't like their preaching, change the channel. Some people are both Fundamentalist & Evangelical.

The ones I'm worried about are the Dominionists & Christian Reconstructionists. They are the ones who've politicized religion in recent years. They "use" the other Fundamentalists / Evangelicals (often by stealth). And they've been quite successful.

At least until the Halliburton of that age sent the shipment of hammers and nails.

Democrat. Liberal. Progressive. Socialist. Independent. Parts of all these things, probably. For sure he wasn't a Santorum Republican.
