Ok, this is what makes my blood boil

-snip-

Defence attorney Guy Womack insisted a tether is a "valid tool", and denied that the (abu ghraib) photos depicted real abuse.
He compared pictures of naked Iraqi prisoners in a human
pyramid to cheerleaders at US sports events, who form pyramids "all
over America"
.

"Is that torture?" he asked, opening Spc Graner's defence on Monday.

The soldier, who was pictured smiling in a number of the
Abu Ghraib pictures, denies assault and conspiracy to mistreat
prisoners.

Some of the pictures were shown by the prosecution as
the court martial got under way at the Fort Hood army base in Texas on
Monday.

You know, why don't you just insert a foreign object up my rectum too, because I feel like pretending I'm a cheerleader today. And can I smile too while you're doing it because I see horrible things in a positive way. And next year, when rush comes along, please let me know because we need to find girls and boys who will do the pyramid for me so I can sell tapes that'll top 'girls gone wild'.

(Just what world am I living in, because I don't recognize it anymore.)

1. If it's so good
why don't cheerleaders at US sports events strip down naked?

6. and masturbate, with dogs taking out shreds of flesh.

Did people in this country really complain about Janet Jackson's semi-exposed breast at the Super-Bowl, or did I dream that?

2. Hmm does he really think that forcing naked cheerleaders
to make pyramids would not be viewed with outrage here in the states?

Not to mention the fact that the military did this, including taking pictures of forced homosexual acting out of prisoners, because of the Muslim culture and the fact that many of these men would prefer death to what was done to them.

What a fool. An absolute idiot.

It amazes me that people like this even exist.

5. I can't even start to understand the reasoning behind the words
There's only one explanation: money. The attorney is selling his soul to defend evil and make $$.

10. I suppose you are right.
But I would suggest the soldier involved get better counsel.

From his statements he would be viewed by me as incompetent at best.

Seriously, picture a cheer leading coach forcing his or her students to do this as a form of punishment for some infraction.

He or she would be fired, shunned, and most likely be put in prison.

It is just a stupid argument to make in this soldiers defense is all.

9. At least one boy was raped
as reported by Seymour Hersch at the New Yorker.

Men died in custody, one from being punched in the chest.

These were not terrorists or criminals.

Now why would the Bush administration WANT to inflame the Middle East by sanctioning such culturally-specific humiliation and torture?

11. I saw that speech by Hersch.
I saw the look of horror on his face when he described what he had seen concerning the video of the rape of a child.

I can only imagine how much more there is that will never be known, that was not recorded for the delight of some very sick individuals. Allot more I am sure.

I question the value of any intelligence given under those circumstances, as do most in the intelligence gathering biz.

And I certainly take issue with the claim that the Iraq war is making America safer.

It is accomplishing quite the opposite in fact.

It has cost us allies, it is bankrupting our country, it is stretching our military to the breaking point, and each and every day our international reputation gets worse and worse.

Oh well, it isn't like the average *Bush supporter lets anything so complicated like FACTS get in their way of their support of their Fuhrer.

No one ever accused these people of over using their intellects.

12. This horror simply did not have to be.
Sick and emboldened people run this country.

It's time for war protests on the same scale this nation saw during Vietnam.

14. Agreed.
We need to start using the same tactics anti-abortion protesters use.

We need to start using signs with graphic pictures of dead Iraqi children under headings like 'THESE ARE THE TERRORISTS WE ARE FIGHTING?'.

We only lost this election by 2% or so. It won't take all that many 'moderates' to see the reality of what is being done in their names and reject it. God knows the MSM in the US won't show any of it. Not even coffins.

Perhaps it is wishful thinking, but it just might work. And at the very least it will make some headlines and piss off some neocons.

They REALLY hate it when the reality of their deeds are shown to the general public.

It is why we have started bombing new outlets and taking over hospitals when attacking places like Falusia.

Don't want those casualty counts getting out before Uncle Sam has a say in the figures.

3. I find it more offensive from our government representatives
I agree it is offensive, but he is the defendant's lawyer. It's his job to say whatever he can to see his client acquitted. What bothers me, is the government officials who insist on abandoning the Geneva Convention and pretend horrific acts don't qualify as torture. I guess I don't expect anything from the soldier's defense attorney.

8. Are our cheerleaders FORCED to strip naked and form pyramids?
How about we grab a few rightwingnuts and FORCE them to strip naked and FORCE them to make pyramids, while we point loaded weapons at them and punch them in the balls whenever we feel like punching them in the balls (do rightwingnuts HAVE balls???)

And what do we think rightwignnuts would screech if anyone FORCED American troops to strip naked and make pyramids? Would they just laugh it off then?

Nooo I don't think so.
