Suggested question for anyone who gets on a RW radio show:
Edited on Tue Jan-11-05 10:10 AM by Richardo
"So how much is the White House paying YOU?"

I know it would never survive the 7-second delay, but what the hell?

1. 7 second delay
Things often slip through the delay. A while back a caller got through to Rush and talked to him for a bit and then dropped the bomb: how Rush dodged the draft for having a boil on his butt. Rush was completely flustered and scrambing to recover, it was hilarious!!!

I hope someone does the same thing to Rush and asks him if he's on the White House payroll.

2. The only thing worse than whoring for money is whoring for free...
If the RW guys and gals are NOT on the payroll, they're bigger idiots than I thought. (And I thought they were pretty big idiots.)

6. This is probably a fine line but isn't the use of the delay to edit
commentary from callers the same as censorship?

I'd be happy to hear a different point of view. I would expect that since these idiots (Rush and others) are not "news" shows, they aren't subject to the same requirements.

4. DU research project...
Boortz (semi-syndicated ATL based pseudo-libertarian) has a $10,000 reward (to go to a charity of your choice) for anyone who can prove that he has ever taken a payoff for any topic covered on his show (outside of paid advertisements spots).

Happy Hunting...

7. So, is it an insult to
not have been offered taxpayer money to flog Bushian policy? Why wasn't Boortz part of the gravy train? Too ethical? Not likely. This is a man who blows like a weathervane. I live in Atlanta. I've heard Boortz blather for years. He's changed his views more often than he's changed his underwear. His station manager tells him what his views are...according to their market data. What is the real reason Boortz wasn't in on the fix? Now that would be interesting to know.

8. I am in ATL more than I would like to be
(because of the lovely traffic) and I heard Mr. Boortz hammering on this the other morning whilst stuck on 400S just before Old Milton...anyway...I don't know his story but he was apparently getting questions like the OP had regarding asking RW talkshow folks about their paid services...and Boortz came up with this 'reward'...thought it was interesting!

9. Yep. It is, and
it's also good cover for Boortz. He spends the majority of his time bashing people because they're poor or "urban" (Neal has lots of code words) or female. I actually heard him declare on his show (a co-worker listens) that women intentionally inflict injuries on themselves in order to blame their husbands in order to gain custody of their children. And he continually distorts Cynthia McKinney's words. Plus, he's a rabid Hillary-hater.
So, this is just ole Neal coming up with a way to make himself look "fair and balanced." He's not. But it's a good ploy.
Plus, Neal is lazy. He doesn't do his homework. Just in the short time I'm in my co-worker's office, I hear fact errors. (his audience doesn't know, of course). He doesn't read. He's not informed. He just blathers the rightwing speak. He's no Conasen or Alterman. They'd clean his clock.
