Witnesses in the CBS story proved it was true even without the document! |
|
This is what all the talking heads are avoiding mentioning...Even without the document, the elderly secretary of the officer who wrote the document said even if the document is fake, everything in it is the truth!...and a couple of other men verified everything to be true....NOBODY (on CNN or anywhere else) will mention this fact! Jack Cafferty was going balistic over the terrible reporting of CBS, but he never once mentioned the witnesses!.....DISGUSTING!

1. Does ANYONE even remember Ben Barnes. |
|
Edited on Tue Jan-11-05 10:23 AM by skypilot
In addition to the secretary there was also Ben Barnes who came forward to admit that he was the one who pulled strings to get Bush into the Guard to begin with. In fact, the "60 Minutes" story that started all the controversy WAS ABOUT HIM!!! The right completely sidetracked the story with all this business about the documents. They were so successful that no one even felt the need to try to discredit Ben Barnes and now everyone seems to have forgotten him altogether.

His appearance was the main point of the story & it's been totally forgotten.

6. Main point of the story. |
|
EXACTLY!!! Listening to people these days you'd think that the documents were the main point of the story. They were not. In fact, "60 Minutes" could have--and probably should have--nixed the documents altogether and just focused on Barnes's story and that would have been quite compelling enough.

5. That just intensifies... |
|
....the stupidity of using those unvetted documents. The fact of the matter is, when part of a story, be it in the news or in a court of law or whatever, is brought into question, it tends to bleed all over the rest of the story in the minds of listeners. Wonder where everything would stand if they had run the story with the Barnes interview and left the docs out of it.
Dumb. Dumb. Dumb.

I do not think the documents were real. I think maybe they were re-creations from memory. But trying to use them has hurt the cause of truth. It would have been better just to go with the witnesses.

11. Still.....WHY DOES NOBODY MENTION THE WITNESSES? |
|
That is what I'm trying to stress....The media has made it all about the documents and are purposely ignoring the witnesses....

3. Turned the feeding frenzy off |

I couldn't stand it. MSNBC is worse than CNN in this matter. I couldn't believe that MSNBC devoted a special hour of Hardball to it last night....I saw the promo and the opening right after Keith but couldn't bring myself to watch it.....I caught a glimpse of the earlier broadcast where they were dealing with the hypothetical What if it had been a memo about John Kerry? and puked all over the tv......
There seems to be two forces at play here...one..a great platform to bash liberals and Democrats....and two...a chance to beat up on a competitor....
Nothing else (especially truth) seems to matter......

7. Cafferty is not paid to tell the truth about Bu$h. He`s paid to hide it. |
|
And if he does not do it. His ass will be replaced immediately and he knows it. So a good "worse than nazi" he will always be. I can`t see that shill growing a spine. Peace Wildman Al Gore is My President

8. That's right, the cons like to make people think that because |
|
the documents can't be authenticated, then the story isn't true.
Wrong!

9. On the radio yesterday, they said the documents |

MAY have been forged. After all this time, no one seems to care about the truth of what I thought was the bushkissers' whole argument.
"The truth"???? LOL I slay myself sometimes.
