I am interested in nutrition, and came across some interesting studies linking low glucose levels to depression and problems with brain functioning.
I am not saying that the Atkins people are in a conspiracy or anything like that, but it amused me and scared me as I can see a dumbing down process happening in our country, and think how this does nothing but help certain groups of people.

1. A bit off topic, but . . . |

A woman I know has been on Atkins for well over a year. Her 'fear' of bread, pasta & potatoes is amusing to me as she stuffs herself with huge amounts of saturated fat. Anyway, she's lost quite a bit of weight, but about 6 months ago her hair started falling out in clumps. The amount of hair she has lost is shocking & yet she refuses to believe it may have anything to do with her diet. I agree that it may be something else altogether, but her diet may be a good place to start.
She was not the sharpest tack in the pack to start with.
Your correlation is very interesting. I certainly believe the powers that be would do anything to keep the population 'fat, dumb & happy.'

2. Not to mention all the toxic pollution in all our bodies. |

How about this one: Poverty means infants and small children are at risk of permanent brain damage because they don't get the nutrition they need for proper brain development.
"Kick 'em off Welfare" = permanent under-preforming underclass (while preaching "boot-strap" fantasies)
