Bush women choose inauguration outfits
Bush women choose inauguration outfits
By Associated Press
Tuesday, January 11, 2005

WASHINGTON - What will first lady Laura Bush and her twin daughters wear to the inauguration?

Mrs. Bush has chosen a silver and blue V-neck evening gown of embroidered tulle, made by American designer Oscar de la Renta, to wear to the inaugural balls, topped by an ice blue satin coat.

To the ceremony on Capitol Hill in which President Bush takes the oath of office for a second term, Mrs. Bush will wear a winter white day suit and coat, like the evening ensemble by de la Renta. The coat is embroidered cashmere and the matching dress is boucle wool with embroidered trim. snip http://news.bostonherald.com/politics/view.bg?articleid=62996

30. LOL.....too funny....here's some great PHOTOS of laura in her best...

from Betty Bowers 'Guide to republican Glamour'

Bras are often too formal for daytime. Instead, I simply tuck my breasts into the elastic waistband of my Dress Barn skirt (to keep them from giving me a black eye when I gallop through the West Wing). In case the French Embassy has its air-conditioning set too high, I complete the outfit by slinging a white, terrycloth Marriott bathrobe over my arm.
--Laura

Sometimes, George and I get called to a fancy benefit at the last minute and there is no time to iron. I try to keep my celery Lane Bryant Power-Blazer scrunched up in a ball at the bottom of my laundry hamper just in case!
--Laura

To take attention away from a posterior that spreads over two congressional districts, have your husband distract photographers with his dog-ventriloquist routine, while you white-knuckle it up the stairs after one too many bloody-marys playing an always-surprising game of WWJD? (What Would Jenna Drink?)

17. and in other news
DC police and Secret Service are investigating the mysterious disappearance of curtains from the Herbert Hoover Memorial Cloakroom. Evidence so far points to the past administration's (Clinton, weblink) theft of silverware, dishes, and 'W' keys from computer keyboards.
"Must have been used to haul the loot" perused one investigating officer.

Long election may harm couture
The Associated Press

WASHINGTON -- Republican women attending President-elect Bush's inauguration have had so little time for ballgown fittings that dressmakers say 2001 may be the year of -- perish the thought -- off-the-rack fashions.

The rush, of course, has been prompted by the weeks-long uncertainty surrounding the election and the fact that it can take anywhere between two and eight weeks for a dressmaker to complete a custom ballgown.

With less than two weeks before Bush is inaugurated as the 43rd president, there simply isn't enough time to finish most fancy evening gowns, seamstresses say.

"This year, I think people have given up. Most of the dresses will be off the rack because we have no time, and I don't think people will dare to have custom-made because of the rush," said Diana Tran of Diana's Couture & Bridal in Washington.

(snip)

He has also noted an unusually strong demand for top hats. He has received several calls asking for them, but his shop no longer carries them.

shoved his hand onto her tit to protect her from photographers....ONE of those photos made the internet, but as soon as the WORLD saw bush* holding his daughter's tit, ALL the photos were scrubbed BIG TIME....

it's amazing how hard the press tries to make these scum look respectable....

The Black Caucus's efforts to save the country weren't publicized; I saw them on F9/11.

The eggs being thrown at the limo weren't publicized; I saw them on F9/11.

That great documentary opened my eyes to so many things I never knew about before, but now I find out today that he left one out (so to speak).

The style bore a remarkable resemblence to an evening gown my Barbie Doll had 40 some years ago. And believe me, if the report was accurate, this dress won't do a thing for her hips. <meow>

I plan to wear BLACK and it is too bad that my TV broke today so I won't be able to watch the coronation. The money wasted on this should be sent to the Tsunami Victims. Who cares what "the bush women are wearing".:puke:
