Bush* : No Jew can be president |
|
President Bush said yesterday that he doesn't "see how you can be president without a relationship with the Lord"
"Lord" is generally understood as a nickname specifically for JESUS.

5. Not a problem... a good thing really....religion in politics, that is. |
|
That's what Barack Obama seemed to be saying on Charlie Rose tonite. Seem to be saying that Bush did well by connecting to folks in this way. Dems had to learn from this.
Guess we should just pretend that the anti-semitism and anti-everybody else -ism that is a logical consequence of this mentality is OK too.

|
It is very possible he meant that. He is a bigot, so it wouldn't surprise me at all. However, I think he means anyone who is not a worshiper of the G-d of Abraham (of course that includes Muslims, oops). Therefore, it cuts out pagans, atheists, and a myriad of others. Typical bullshit from a master of bullshit.

that they don't worship the g-d of Abraham the way the G-d of Abraham wants to be worshipped, ergo Jews as "bad" as any other non Christian.

Our religion was good enough to produce a savior for them, and how do the repay us? By saying we won't get the 'real prize' after death and allowing their hate to dampen the message of the one sent to save them! They are a sad lot, those radical right-wingers...and that includes the idiot in the WH!

I'm a secular humanist (fancy term for an atheist I guess). Let's take a look at some of the people who are "going to heaven" whatever that means. the Bush family, Pat Robertson, Jerry Falwell, Dobson, Frist, Hatch, to name a few--but you get the idea. If going to heaven means spending all eternity with these assholes I prefer to be wormfood.

40. Thats in The Bush Dyslexicon |
|
Did you read it too? Bush said he doesn't believe any non-Christians can go to Heaven. If he still believes that, it makes his decision to go to war with Iraq even more immoral. You would think that if Bush believed that non-Christians were going to Hell he would not want to be responsible for them getting killed. Thousands of mostly Muslim civilians have been killed. If he started the war even while believing that any Muslim civilians killed were going to Hell that shows what a heartless person he is. I wish people would use that arguement more when they talk with people who say Bush is a good man.

32. Fundemental Christians dont buy into a universal God. |
|
Christians believe that only christians have a relationship with God. Jews and Muslims may think they have a relationship with that God, but they dont. There is one God and he sent Christ and he wants people to be christians.
It is pure spin to generalize that comment to mean all people who believe in a God. If Bush truely believes that christ is lord, he doesnt really think muslims and jews have a relationship with God.

We shouldn't be allowed to practice our religions on base (Zell) and we aren't charitable enough for faith-based funding (W) so we surely can't be president. (Although the libertarians ran a druid for governor a while back.)

And he also basically said non Christians won't make it to heaven. That was my first introduction at the republican primary debates of this man and ever since that day I have despised him.

Oh, is there a link to this madness? I'd love to have it preserved for posterity (quite possibly in next week's Top Ten!)
