I did not know Scott, as I am fairly new at DU, but he
was a Democrat here in the very Red State of Indiana, so I
know he was, and still is, one of the good guys.

Anyway, I thought some of you may want to see the write
up from our local paper, so here it is.

January 12, 2005

Scott Anthony Lowery 37, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on Saturday, January 8, 2005. He is survived by his mother, Nancy Mullins Lowery; uncles, Michael and Tad Mullins, aunts, Mary and Mona Mullins, and cousins, Elizabeth, Amanda and Sarah. Scott graduated from North Central and attended I.U.P.U.I., and was a senior editor of GENESIS magazine in the Spring of 2000. Scott was a well-loved and respected member of The Democraticunderground, a web site, posting most of the late breaking news for them. He also belonged to Americans United. He was a Howard Dean advocate and passionate about politics. Broadripple Masonic Lodge will do his memorial. Funeral services will be Saturday, January 15, 2005 at 3 p.m. at the Flanner & Buchanan Funeral Center - Carmel, 325 Carmel Drive, Carmel, Indiana, where calling will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Contributions may be made to Americans United.

I hope Mama Kef gets some financial help for the cost of the funeral....thats another industry that knows how to take advantage of folks at the worst possible time....sigh....

19. Can I ask an indelicate question

How did he pass away? I heard he died suddenly while using his computer. Was it his heart? These sort of stories scare me because I'm 36 ... I know three people around my age who have died suddenly of heart conditions. It's a good idea to get regular checkups.

There was a post-mortem, and the results from those are normally available n 4-6 weeks. There was no indication that it was anything other than natural causes, however, according to the police

So, I would assume that he had a pulmonary embolism. Very sad.
