1. yeah but hire them for what? not to lie?
I mean really, what would we be paying them for - telling the truth? Please don't lie and we'll give you $240,000.

Go straight to the rural swing state voters. But ad space in small, rural newspapers. It's cheap.

And what do you do with this ad space? You sell these people on the leftist perspective and worldview of economics and government.

One way to do it would be cartoons/comics. Start right here on DU. Start a comic strip whose characters explain the world from a leftist point of view. The strip could even delve into political and economic history. Then publicize these strips online. Ask for donations to buy the ad space to run the strips in small rural newspapers in Iowa, NH, OH, WI, MI, PA, etc. Try to get celebrities onboard.

Once you have enough money, start buying ad space and running the comics.

In 2008, a real progressive might have a chance in IA and NH primaries.

Or, we can just go on gossiping about politics and donating to and supporting and working for these "centrist," "moderate" rightwing Democrats. That has had splendid results so far.

4. I'm worried about getting outbid. They can just write a government check.

Not only that. Most in the media seem willing to be the "girlfriend" and give it up for free to Republicans.

It turns out all those jokes about media whores were painfully accurate. Maybe we'll get a break on our birthday or something.
