Lieberman sticking to his guns on WMD!
good ol' Joe!

http://www.turkishpress.com/news.asp?ID=35898

<snip>

Another senior Democrat in Congress, Joe Lieberman, broke ranks with Pelosi, saying that even though no WMD were found in Iraq, the invasion of Iraq was justified.

"The fact that we didn't discover large stocks of weapons of mass destruction doesn't mean that Saddam Hussein didn't have them," the Connecticut Senator told the Fox television network.

7. Joe is very pro-Israel. He probably had a big say in getting
the Dems to vote for Bush's war.

I really wish one of the Dems would just out him so we can see just how the network works.

72. I agree, BlueEyedSon (I love your screen name, by the way!)
The war is not good for Israel, and it's not good for American Jews that so many of the high-profile neocons like Lieberman *ARE* Jews. Any chance of getting the more progressive denominations to excommunicate them? I'm not being totally facetious or sarcastic here.

That would seem to me to be just as big a deal as Hussein not having them in the first place. In any case...Bush and his enablers like Lieberman have led us into the biggest foreign policy disaster in the history of this counrty.

6. Holy crap I've never been more sick of Joe Lieberman.
I can't honestly remember agreeing with anything he's ever said, or even the way he presented himself during any public appearance. Note the language. Whenever there's an admission that NOTHING was found, they always use the phrase "large stocks of weapons". That phrase implies that SOMETHING was found, just not on the scale promised. Is he really the best Connecticut can do? I'd almost rather a Republican, since at least then I'd understand why I'm hearing this constant stream of Bushsuck. Perhaps someone could aim him at a brick wall and then convince him to build up some Joementum.

How are the American People ever going to wake up to the realities of Iraq if the democrats and republicans keep lying to them? I have friends who still believe that Hussein had WMDS it just there buried in the desert or they were smuggled into Syria. How are they ever going to know the truth as long as this misinformation keeps getting spread?

Belief without evidence is considered virtuous. To the fundamentalist mind, it's actually a sign of strength.

Lieberman is also a shameless political whore, so I don't know about him personally. But he's speaking to a specific audience- a specific type of mind.

12. Technically, Holy Joe is accurate on this point
> "The fact that we didn't discover large stocks of weapons of mass
> destruction doesn't mean that Saddam Hussein didn't have them,"

Actually, we know that Saddam had them. He had them, he used most of them in the war with Iran, and the rest decayed to the point of uselessness long before the current invasion. Now whether that in itself is a justification for an invasion is a point on which Joe and I will have to part ways, but I still give him credit for stating the obvious.

and they all need to go "over there" to the war party instead of using ours for their nefarious goals.

If you ever want a REAL shocker, check out which party gave birth to the neo-cons and you'll understand why old Joe feels right at home.

Some of the ones who left, e.g. Marshall Wittman, have come right back home to the loving arms of the DLC where he's immeidately made one of the 6 official spokespeople and a Sr Fellow for their pro-war Think Tank.

Makes you wonder just how circular the arrangement is...

There is only one weapon that technically qualifies as a Weapon of Mass Destruction: Nuclear Weapons!

Biological and chemical weapons are no more mass destructive than many other conventional weapons. And in certain circumstances they are significantly ineffective.

I have to believe that there's a sizable block of CT Democrats who are sick of this cheerleader for ME war. 59. Wow. Are you kidding me, Joe?
I mean, will you say just ANYTHING?

Angling for an appearance on Hannity or something?

Will someone please take Mr. Lieberman on in the primaries?

Please?

60. By his reasoning, Liberman himself might have WMD's.
Can he prove he doesn't have them?

65. This is craziness
>"The fact that we didn't discover large stocks of weapons of mass >destruction doesn't mean that Saddam Hussein didn't have them," the >Connecticut Senator told the Fox television network.

Actually, Joe, it DOES mean that he didn't have them, unless you count the ones we gave him back in the 80s. Moron.

66. How utterly pathetic
Poor, sorry creature.

Was he this sorry when Al Gore chose him as his running mate, or has his sorriness grown on him since then?

68. Joe's next project will be to continue the hunt for --
-- the Northwest Passage.

Just because no one's found it yet doesn't mean it isn't there.

What is this fucking douchebag's problem? Everyone knows there were no weapons except for him and the Pukes. This is beyond disgraceful.

70. Just coz Iraq didn't have WMD doesn't mean Iraq didn't have WMD.
Just coz Lieberman doesn't have a brain doesn't mean Lieberman doesn't have a brain.

79. Just because they haven't yet found
a dead girl or a live boy in W's bed, that doesn't mean he doesn't have any.

How on earth was Hussein supposed to prove he didn't have WMDs if the fact that they couldn't find any anywhere (no matter how long they looked or how much money they spent) wasn't going to be taken as evidence that he didn't have them.

81. Lieberman is DINO, but there are many DINO's.
That he even said that is shocking. Impeach him and the rest for lying about the reasons for destroying Iraq, before and after, and for sending our troops to die in an illegal immoral and unjustifiable war.

83. Oh but his partner, Simon Rosenberg
would be perfect to chair the Democratic party because, you see, DLC insider clones don't influence policy when they are in significant leadership positions.

Gotcha.

Isn't there anyone who supported the Iraq war that is going to be honest about their real reasons why?
