3. Most unseemly. So what did you expect , lack of hubris?

This is from today's Denver Post editorial page.

"The planned glitz and glamour of the three-day affair already has an air of being overdone, if not outdated, when contrasted with the American servicemembers who are in harm's way on the streets of Iraq and in the hills of Afghanistan.

And with the Indian Ocean still churning up bodies from last month's devastating tsunami, ice sculptures and black tie dinner dances seem slightly off chord.

The website of the Presidential Inaugural Committee says inaugurations "set the tone for a new administration and reflect a president's personality." What do the organizers want us to see about President Bush in next week's $40 million celebration?"

6. it was tricia nixon's WH wedding that turned people against nixon (PHOTO)
Edited on Wed Jan-12-05 06:19 PM by diamond14
even though some were all ready against nixon...it was the DECADENCE of this WH Wedding that SHOCKED people, at the height of the Vietnam War (same like bush* DECADENT inaugeration balls, during TWO wars, and the biggest natural disaster in our lifetimes).....perhaps bush* balls will turn even more Americans against him and his neo-con stink....

While many were dying everyday in Vietnam, the wedding cake had MORE THAN 1000 eggs in it....the entire event was way out of proportion, and many questioned the use of the White House for such personal matters and WHO PAID FOR THIS (us, the taxpayers), just like bush* x-mas events...WE PAY FOR ALL THIS.....

Title: Tricia Nixon's Wedding (dick "I'm NOT a crook" nixon's daughter)

Description: The wedding of Tricia Nixon and Edward Cox occurred in the White House Rose Garden there in 1971. Four hundred guests attended the wedding, which was the first outdoor ceremony held at the White House. Afterwards, the reception was held in the East Room.
