These "letters" seem way too drastic to be from progressives. Especially the ones with racial slurs. I suspect that either they are not actually from liberals but she assumes they are, or that they are not actual letters, but just contrivances to support her point.

Agreed. Some of the letters (especially the ones containing racist slurs) aren't from progressives. A journalist without an agenda would have pointed out that they were being attacked from both sides.

Typcally, she takes the letters from the biggest nutjobs and uses it to characterize all liberals.

She is a horrid woman. She spews vicious venom in her columns and TV appearances, and then cries because she is so persecuted, and claims it is because liberals hate her because of her race.

The success of her carnival act depends on her getting attention - not from the RW but from us on the Left. Becoming a victim of the Left is her sure way to stay in the center of attention and advance in her chosen career as a carnie.

We see the whoring comments here all the time, and there are often racial attacks in Condi Rice/Clarence Thomas threads. Someone had a sig pic of Condi as Aunt Jemimah, if I recall correctly.

So, yes, they're probably real.
